PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

No more J award for MEL-LHR flight (QF9) available on the 9th December 2017. What are the odds in requesting a J award seat release? Don't think they have sold many seats at this point?
Going to call them tonight so an indication would be good.

Hi,

Have a flight QF 42 on 20 Feb 17 --> Jakarta to Sydney

What is the probablity to get award upgrade?

Thank you

thank you for the quick reply

which class should i be looking is it D? i thought it meant to be U

U is the classic award bucket for business class fares, it would be good if there was some U availability as it indicates a low loading, but it would not give you an automatic upgrade when flying internationally.

The 8 x I fares is what is important and is very positive, others can confirm but I believe upgrades will come out of this bucket first (in the absence of any U)

U is what I am looking for when I book in Y with intention to upgrade with points to J. As Serfty says, if U is available, you can upgrade as soon as booking made, and pick your seat and forget about until OLCI. Being only SG at best (like australianpoochie) I have never succeeded with an upgrade when there was no U.

Now there are U subclass seats on 12 June, as mentioned on here, so I changed my M subclass fare to dep BNE at 19.00, from 15.00 where no U were available.
But I guess WP and P1 do still have first go on QFd... as I have again been put on a wait list for upgrade.
Same as previous case ie 15.00 BNE dep.
No immediacy in my case.

QF 665 for 12/6 shows: J9 C9 D9 I6 U2 Y9 B0 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9S9 N9 Q9 G0. So I would expect the upgrade to J to come through immediately - breaks one of my "unofficial" rules if it doesn't.

Hello, I'm hoping someone can check for me loadings on QF27 SYD-SCL on the 7th Feb.

also for QF28 SCL-SYD on the 21st Feb, realising this is quite far out.

I'm QF WP, hoping for Y to J upgrade, settle for Y+

Many thanks in advance.
Bren

Not looking good ...

to my surprise, got the text message at T-27 for the upgrade.

When I went to select my seat, quite a few vacant, say the upper and lower decks , only about half the seats selected.

I feel that QF27/28 are a bit of an exception when it comes to upgrade probability since in my experience QF do not sell the J seats allocated to LA but use some of them for upgrades.

Could someone help me with the loading of QF118 Hongkong to Sydney on 11 Feb please. I am hoping to go from Y to J as an SG. Heaps of thanks in advance.

As it's almost T48 before my flight, I would be extremely appreciative if someone could give me an update:

J to F on the following flight:
Saturday 11 February: QF93 MEL-LAX
I am QF Gold.

Thanks Matt. Appreciate it.
I have 13E selected in Emerald City, so if I don't get the upgrade, I hope I can keep that seat.
