PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

91% / 25m J9C9D0I0Y9B9H9K9M9L9

What does this one mean??

Im sorry im new at this.

The letters represent far buckets. J=full flexible business class, C, D & I are various sale business class fares (U if it were there, is the business classic award bucket)

Y = Full economy - one of the others would represent a red-e-deal.

The maximum will only ever be 9 and they can overlap afaik.

What status do you have with QF?

Plus, you can ignore the '91% / 25m' bit, as it relates to availability. This is about reliability of the on time departure, and average delays.

Cheers,
Matt.

Im a bronze
Bronze lowers your chances, it will depend on how many Sliver, Gold, Platinum and Platinum One and Chairmans Lounge FF's have requested upgrades as they all get preference over Bronze.

Sounds bad bad but plenty of Bronze FFers get upgrades- let us know how you go

Sorry for being a bit impatient, but can someone help with the availability of QF82 SIN to SYD on 20 May please. I am hoping to move from Y to J as SG. TIA.

Thanks JessicaTam, you are right. it doesn't look good. I have had 100% success rate so far. Fingers crossed that there are no WP/P1 before me. I put in the request a while ago.

If someone could help explore upgrade availability from SIN - MEL on SQ207 and SQ217. I'm specifically looking to upgrade to a Business SAVER seat.

I don't know how SQ's codes work but both flights appear to have U availability. If the screen shot doesn't display let me know and I'll type out the results

Sorry, date of proposed flight is 2nd January 2018.

Hi avinashm - with Business upgrade/award availability on SQ, you are looking for something in the 'I' fare bucket, but then it tends to be unreliable finding SQ award inventory through the usual places like ExpertFlyer and BCD Travel.

I find the best way to check, is like you would with a Qantas classic award booking, for a QF Domestic upgrade; i.e. Log in to your KrisFlyer account, and look for a Business Saver reward seat on the dates / flights you need. If it's there, then you should be able to book the eligible Y fare and upgrade right away. There's not always a need for the international upgrade lottery with SQ, like QF. If it's there to book, it's yours. If it's not, then you can book on the Waitlist and hope for the best. Like with any carrier, FF status will no doubt help.

Incidentally - there is no 'I' availability showing in EF, but I have looked at the availability through my KrisFlyer account, and there is Business Saver award availability (for 1 PAX... I didn't know what you needed) on ALL 4 direct flights from SIN-MEL on the 2nd Janauary 2018. Go get em!

Cheers,
Matt.

Can someone please check the Y loadings for PER -> SIN QF71 on May 6th and SIN -> PER QF72 on May 31st?

QF71 - 9's across the board including 9 Y award seats

QF72 - J9 C9 D4 I1 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M8 L5 G0

Thanks. Are you able to tell how full the Y cabin is? Trying to help out someone who is a lowly bronze debating if they should pay $35 to book an aisle seat. My suggestion was to just ask for aisle during check-in but obviously this is only guaranteed if the cabin isn't completely full.

QF 71 seems very lightly loaded so I would roll the dice on that one

QF 72 is still fairly light but it is still a way off so if an aisle seat is important I would pay the money to lock it in
