PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Thanks Oatek. I need 3 things to happen now. No WP or P1 before me. No last minute J booking. No delay from my incoming 3K flight.

Looking to book SIN - SYD on QF6 on 1 June.
Ideally want to travel in Business, what do you think the odds of being offered the chance to Bid to Upgrade?
And as a non-QF member, how much cash do you think would be needed?

I took the chance and booked the Sale fare in economy on QF6 on 1 June.
Fingers crossed I get the option to bid for an upgrade :)

No.
I is discount business.
Z is business awards.

Really? because I am looking at two flights, VA43 has no business reward seats available, and VA45 does, but no mention of Z class in either
The reason I assumed I is business reward is simple process of elimination :)

VA 43 20/10/17 J - 7 C - 7 D - 3 Y - 7 B - 7 H - 7 K - 7 L - 7 E - 7 N - 7 V - 7 Q - 7 M - 7
VA 45 20/10/17 J - 7 C - 7 D - 6 I - 4 Y - 7 B - 7 H - 7 K - 7 L - 7 E - 7 N - 7 V - 7 Q - 7 T - 7 M - 7 U - 7

VA choose not to make Z class available to external GDS's, so it won't appear in that format on Expert Flyer.

Best way is to simply search for VA award bookings.

Flying VA341 MEL-BNE on Friday 26 May. I've been booked in elevate economy class and I'm silver. I've point in a points upgrade which is waitlisted. I'm thinking to call the guest centre to get economy x put on as a back up. Any thoughts on how likely an upgrade to business would be? It's only a work trip but as it's my birthday this weekend I thought I would treat myself. Thanks in advance.

Now just two weeks out before we fly off to Santiago. Would very much appreciate another look at load on QF27 on June 2. 2 pax flying Y+ with J upgrade requested. I'm SG. Also, is there any way to find out what plane will be flying that day? I've read that it's now regularly an un-refurbed 744.

Cheers Pete

I am still waiting for my upgrade confirmation for this evening flight 20/5 May from SIN to SYD. When doing a dummy booking, QF is still selling 1 J ticket. My previous upgrades have all come thru at about T24. My incoming 3K flight with only 80 min connection time may be a factor in play here. Its schedule is still showing as "estimated" on my QF app. I am an SG. Do people have any insights in this situation?

There are two flights this evening. QF82 and QF6. But it doesn't really matter which you are on.
Sadly your chances are approximately zero on either flight.

Hi,

Im about to book Y fares to USA, and can get saver, or flex.

im also going to put in for an upgrade.

I know platinum are higher than gold etc etc....

But, are the flex fares also considered higher on the pecking list than saver?

thanks in advance

TQ

Hi,

Can somebody help me with the loadings for SQ208 dep MEL - SIN on the 28/05/2017. Haven't been able to get two seats next to each other in Y and wondering if I should bid for an upgrade to Y+ to keep the other half happy

Thanks!

Would really assist if full flight details were provided when requesting help, particularly origin and destination.

They're only selling Y and M in economy class, so I would guess it's very full, although not overbooked. Having said that, SQ blocks a lot of seats from selection, so it's hard to say what will happen. And the fact is, even being in Y+ isn't a guarantee that you'll get 2 seats together. J doesn't look like very heavily booked though.
