PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Can someone please check SQ246 BNE-SIN for the 18th of September (this Monday)
and SQ308 SIN-LHR on the 19th of September. Thanks!
SQ246:
Z6 C6 J6 U4 D4 Y9 B9 E9 M0 H0 W0Q0 N0 V0 G0 L0 K0

And SQ308:
R4 F3 Z4 S3 Y8 M0 L0

Don't know what to make of those numbers - I'll leave that to the SQ experts.

Thanks was mostly just interested in the economy loading's, looks like not a sell out but pretty full for both flights

How often are fare buckets updated? Is there a set time, ie once a day?

I needed to book a VA MEL-HKG return flight early Nov. The "Saver" fare bucket disappeared while doing it and I couldn't complete the booking. Seat map shows an empty plane so I am sure it will come back up. J7 C7 D7 I7 Y7 B7 H7 K7 L7

Also a good idea to clear your cache - sometimes they have seen your interest and adjusted accordingly.

Hi, can anyone help with my changes of an upgrade (WP booked on a Freedom fare) for the following flights with VA:

MEL-LAX 24/9 VA23 - Expertflyer showing: J0 C0 D0 I0 W3 R1 O0 Y7 B7 H7 K7 L7E7 N7 V7 Q7 T7

LAX-MEL on 29/9 VA24 - Expertflyer showing: J0 C0 D0 I0 W1 R0 O0 Y7 B7 H7 K7 L7E7 N6 V5 Q0 T0

Seatmaps are showing about 6 x J seats free but those numbers above don't look good? Thanks in advance, first time really using Experflyer paid sub.

The seat map is not a good indicator, not all PAX select seats in advance. J0,D0,C0,I0 indicates that all seats are sold, maybe some one will cancel.

Both options very light, right now... in fact, if they were leaving tomorrow and you hadn't been notified of an upgrade, I'd tell you with confidence you could unpack your personal pyjamas! ;)

Cheers,
Matt.
Booked the 7th Oct one. Will see how I go. Looking at the seat map (I don't know the current loads) most of the main Business cabin is available but the nose cabin and upstairs are pretty full.

Would appreciate an update on what the current loadings are on QF73 SYD-SFO on 7th October, thanks. Hoping for an upgrade from Y to J as a WP.

Thanks. Yes, I saw the seat map (can view that for free) and my preferred seats (aisle seat in nose or upper deck) are all unavailable. Still any seat in Business Class is a lot better than further back.

Interesting that the loads look so good with so many seats selected.

Hope the email about my flight coming up soon addressing me weirdly by my second name (instead of my first name) doesn't prevent the upgrade going through if it's available. Could be why it took a few calls before it ticketed. Yet the booking shows my first name first as expected. Guess I'll be giving QF a call on Thursday if no upgrade has yet come through to see if there's a technical issue.

How is QF93 MEL-LAX on Oct 7 looking in Y?

I'm currently in a middle aisle seat at the front with someone else on the opposite side and two empty seats in between.

Weighing up between staying put vs moving towards the back where these are whole rows available.
