PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Availability in Y: Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S0 N9 Q0 O0 X9 E9

And the other cabins for reference:
W: W3 R0 T0
J: J9 C0 D0 I0
F: F9 A9

Thanks.

If I understand this correctly, there is lots of Y availability.

I think I'll stay put and wait until T-2 to choose a final seat

Y9 means they’re willing to sell at least 9 tickets in that fare bucket (Note economy may be overbooked forcing QF to approve at least some upgrade requests if more people that booked than expected turn up). So 9 in most of the economy fare buckets does suggest there’s a large number of tickets available for sale which would suggest a decent chance that selecting a seat towards the rear of the plane could get you a group of seats to yourself.

Moreover, X9 is award availability and the presence of that indicates economy is wide open.

Looking pretty good:

Thanks! My upgrade from Flex Y was approved about 20 minutes before T-60! This continues my 100% success rate on this route. My previous upgrades were from PE though. Hoping my upgrade from Flex Y is successful for the flight home as well.
Seatmap perhaps not quite so good.
I was unable to select a seat in the nose or upstairs, but a seat in Business is a seat in Business. This should make the wait for the flight a bit more relaxing.

Either 1A was selected automatically or someone else grabbed it. I was allocated a seat in row 8, but changed to a seat further forward.

Can someone please check whether there are any Business Class Upgrade seats left on VA86 Date: 26/11
You will get a quicker response if you posted departure and arrival airports, VA86 cannot be searched in expertflyer.

Excellent!

Good morning would some one be kind enough to advise current loads on the following two flights.

19th October QR905 MEL-DOH

20th October QR7 DOH-LHR

Many thanks in advance.

Thank you Steady and PJM it looks rather open at this stage.

Hello, would some one be kind enough to please advise current loading on the following flight:

24th October QF23 SYD-BKK

I'm trying to work out if economy is empty as per what I can see in the free version of ExpertFlyer or if I need to put in for an upgrade.
There are 57 seats pre-allocated in Economy of the 269 available.
Although someone has chosen to sit next to me in a set of 2!

Thank you in advance.

QF 23 SYD 10:50a → BKK 4:40p

And here is the seat map I see which I expect is the same as what you see from the point of view of actual allocated seats

Thank you very much pmj99au.
I will hedge my bets its a sparsely booked Economy flight. Not so good for Qantas. I can always move seats if they are free.

Hello, I'd love someone's help opinion here please.
I'm looking to fly from HKG -> SYD on 4-Nov-17 at night, happy to go on any of these flights
CX111
CX161
CX101
I'm currently wait listed with Asia Miles for Business and Prem Economy awards booking on each flight.
I have no relevant status.
Can anyone share an opinion of the likelihood of being offered a seat in either cabin. I note Econonmy Award seats are available now on CX101 but I'm reluctant to book that just yet and then pay the 10,000 points change fee if I'm offered a seat in the better cabins as I don't have lots of points to waste. Thanks in advance

101 looks like your best option for J and 161 your best option for PE. It’s a bit far out to call but it is looking reasonably busy at this stage
