PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Both wide open but both too far in the future. Best to check much closer to the time and please include to and from information

Hi all,

I'm on QF1 Syd to London as a WP on Y fare. The upgrade option is for the entire journey. Since there is a stop over in Singapore and QF is selling ticket between SYD to SIN and SIN to LHR separately, is there a possibility of segment upgrade?

I choose QF1 rather the direct flight QF9 since I feel that upgrade possibility on QF9 is rather slim? Any experience on the actual upgradability between QF1 and QF9

TIA

My understanding is its an all or nothing upgrade on things like that. Ie QF9, QF1, QF11.

As a WP in Y on QF9 just between PER-LHR, I'm zero from two with J upgrade requests. Requests were submitted 5 months prior to the flight too.

Hi All
I am looking at QF2 or QF82 from Sing to Syd as a WP on May 11th and looking to book a Flex for that leg.
Which would have the best opportunity to upgrade.

What are the chances if I booked a Saver rather than a Flex?
Thanks

My two cents QF2 will give you the better chance being higher capacity and the chance of seats opening up with J to F upgrades. IME the Y fare class you book shouldn’t make any difference to your upgrade chances so long as it is an upgradeable fare.

I am waitlisted for a Business Class Saver seat, Class (i)
whats my outlook?

this is what BCD travel info suggests.

Z - 9
C - 9
Y - 9

I did check other dates, where there are Saver reward seat available, but their is no"i" fare bucket showing up either, so not sure which one I should be looking at to get an indicator.

On the upside, for the last month Business class Saver reward have been unavailable for this flight, and since yesterday, they now have opened up Waitlisting again. That alone surely has to be a good sign, no logic opening up waitlisting if the queue exceeds possible availability ( I guess)

If someone could give me the availability for QF64 JNB - SYD on 2nd May, that would be appreciated. Hoping for Y+ to J upgrade for two pax.

just tried to look up some Fiji Airways flights on BCD travel, but couldn't find them, but then checked their old name Air Pacific & it was there. They changed their name about 3 or 4 years ago I think it was.
