PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Do you mean a points upgrade? Looks reasonable at this time depending on your status

Thank you very much, I really appreciate it! I am bronze, but here's hoping. Yes points upgrade, currently playing the waiting game with QF.

Hi team, it’s almost time for me to fly home to Sydney. Can someone please check on:

QF2 LHR-SYD 16 February ETD 20:40

Hoping for Y to W as Silver, thanks again.

Would someone with expertflyer mind checking fare bucket availability of QF29 MEL-HKG on 23/7/2023? Some changes to my OWCA have forced me to take an economy sector and Hobart have said they've been unable to release any business seats on this specific flight - though I was told by the agent that it still has 20 seats unsold...

In refusing to open up a new J Award they are obviously expecting good sales as there is still lots of J available

Thanks mate, could be something to do with them changing the flight to the A380 for March and waiting to settle schedules?

Good afternoon AFFrs

Can someone take a look at loadings for QF779 MEL-PER for 16th Feb please? Y isn't heavily filled, so if J has some space, I was hoping my upgrade request might be fruitful.

Thanks in advance.

Any of the legends on here able to check J class availability on QF93 20th Feb please? Fingers still firmly crossed!

Expert Flyer has got me this far, and we are inside 7 days so hoping the P1s are all now accounted for, still showing a lot of X seats though.

TIA

There *is* a J reward (U) seat on MEL-DFW on 20th :)

Confusing as it is showing W for sale on what is a 332.
Indeed - and on the seat map it looks like the/a smaller business cabin that they have flagged this way... a new sales option for coast to coast flights perhaps? J without the soft product, sold as Y+?

I notice there is no QF10 PER to MEL that day. I wonder if this is the replacement and as you say, J hard product with Y+ soft product.

Curiously it was (almost) standing room only on the same lfight last week - four? empty seats in the whole Y cabin as I made my way down to the rear toilets.

I'll report back at the end of the week.

Oh, another afterthought: given that seat map, probably should have bid for a PE upgrade, too...

Unsuccesful, regrettably.

Also, not able to retrospectively add the "PE if J unavailable" request without cancelling my request and going to the back of the queue, so elected not to.

Lesson learned.

Hi All - Trying for the fourth time to use my recognition upgrades...annoying! Already submitted, and can only book 3 seats in business as of now, but could someone please check last minute availability for NZ99 AKL-NRT, Sat 18th February?

Thanks !
