PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Re: QF11 Load Question

I could be wrong, but I thought I read that on the A380, the armrests on the 4 Y seats in the middle section can't be raised all the way, thereby limiting the advantage of lying down?
I've only been in 71D and 80A in Y so I can't comment...

Exactly - unless you are pencil thin there is no real way to make a row of 4 on a QF A388 into a 'bed' - the arm rest only raise around 30°. As a result there is little room underneath them, especially near the pivot.

Re: QF11 Load Question

Myself and a friend are on this flight as well, booked PE but requested points upgrade to business.
I am not sure what these numbers and letters mean?
Is there a table somewhere without having to read 100+ pages?
My booking number begins with Z, so does that mean no Z seats left?
If there are 4 "classes" why are there so many letters?
Sorry for the newby questions...but this is my first requested upgrade.

Dont know what happened there...tried to include previous quote from a few pages back regarding QF11 on 25 October 2012.
That is the flight I am on.

IME, as a WP you have a reasonable chance - it really depends on how I and D hold out in the coming weeks.

See post 1 of this thread and check the link to "Understanding Expert Flyer".

If you are booked PE in Z class and have an upgrade request I would assume you have an "Any Seat Award".

From KVS:

QF 11 SYD 14:05 LAX 09:45 388 F4 A2 P0 J9 C9 D9 I9 U0 W9 R9 T9 Z0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 X7 E0

Looks like there's plenty of availability in J, W and Y

This was the post I was looking for

So by reading that link I think this basically says it is not a fully loaded plane and upgrade chances are higher (based on that alone not staus etc)

My fare was a special sale deal for PE, I requested points upgrade to Bus.

Thanks

Re: QF11 Load Question

X9 three days out? (O9, Q9, N9 as well).

That's a very "quiet" flight in Economy.

Re: QF11 Load Question

I too will be on that flight. QF11 on 25th Oct. Am just waiting for an inside update on the load. So will let you know when I find out.

Re: QF11 Load Question

Two of us are taking QF1 SYD-LHR on Sunday (two days away) and we've got a points upgrade request in. Here are the loadings. I'm QF WP and partner is QF SG. I hope this means we'll be upgraded to Business!
