PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Thanks madrooster. Apologies- I meant CX135 HKG-MEL.

What does L mean against a fare code? 0?

That the class can be waitlisted by an agent. L for "waitlist" and C for "closed". So basically, it means 0 seats. You only see L and C when the point of sale is UK instead of USA in EF.

CX 135 is J9 C9 D8 I2 W6 R1 E0 Y9 B9 H0 K1 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0

So as you see, in my EF search I see xO where the previous search results from Madrooster shows xL for those with no availability.

Thanks In advance, Could I please get the loadings for QF25 (SYD - HND) 5/FEB/16 and QF62 (NRT-BNE) 14/FEB/16?

Kind Regards

Only 2 seats blocked in F. Empty cabin.

good luck.

Checking in in BNE tonight, I had an F seat, MrsTMA had J. (On points - they could not release 2 F seats apparently, dispite cabin being half full.) Both of us EK WP. On the phone EK ensured us that EK mhughly values their WPs and they had added MrsTMA as priority wait list. At airport, F checkin, ask about prior upgrade and if it had come through. Blank looks. Stunned mullet looks. "I'll just as my supervisor.." Checkin supervisor appeared and I asked about upgrades. "Complementary??? She gasped. Oh no no no. " (What's the point of being EK WP I asked myself, having been upgraded in the past and having seen many complementary J to F when we were paying F customers.) Then she said, in front of MrsTMA, "Does SHE have enough to points for an upgrade? Oh, yes SHE does. So in this case ok"

Was spectacularly unimpressed. One would not speak of a child like this, lest alone an EK WP member.

Sure, thanks.
So it is QF 93 Melbourne to Los Angeles jan 2nd 2016

Im not sure what all the letters stand for….
But, does that mean there is 2 seats left in first, and 5 in business, and 3 in economy?
If so, what is C5
Are the codes relevant for upgradeable seats?

Thanks again

TQ

Please read the first post of this thread for information understanding Expert Flyer information.

Essentially what it means is QF is still willing to sell 2 first class seats at the highest fare range (F), but none at any lower fare. 5 in business at two different fare rates, and only 3 in economy - yes. I'm not an expert in interpreting the cods and numbers but this is a pretty full flight. More detail on interpreting these is provided in the earliest posts in this thread.

It would be worth asking again around the 30th or 31st December.

Thanks heaps for this. So, if I am reading this correctly, outbound appears that there is some room for upgrade to J but PE is full and inbound J upgrades are 0?

No worries.

Although still some time off, there's plenty of J availability outbound. It's a 747 and most J seats are as yet unallocated according to the seatmap - including on the upper deck and at the pointy end or the solo seats. But PE most seats already taken. Inbound still quite a few J but too early to be confident I reckon. Currently a non-refurbed bird.

More info in the first post in this thread.

Thankyou for this. How full is Y? Hoping for overbooking bumping everyone up.

Your experience sounds just awful as WP. And as premium class guests as well. Hoping they just had a bad day/unwell yada.

Thanks for your insight. I read the I bucket as an upgrade bucket by mistake. FYI the link on the 1st post at the bottom is not working as expected. It seems to push through to the waybackmachine which doesnt allow me to view the post due "exceeding max number of posts viewed for unregistered users" (even though I am a registered user). Due to it being wayback I can't use my log in for some reason. Can that link be fixed?

Some 60+ seats available in Y.

Sure can - apologies for that. All good now.

Clearly not a popular flight then.
Not sure if it was possible to see how many seats are actually left or if the buckets were mistakenly added up together, but if there were that many buckets with 9s, then the flight isn't that full either way.
