Re: Flight centre vs online FINNAIR booking

Barbra, if you want advice it is much easier to be succinct (short, with specific questions, dates and or times), it is really hard to pick out the key information from the ramblings.

State date, location and time and we can give you some easy advice.

Re: Flight centre vs online FINNAIR booking

Book directly on the hotel website not through Booking.com. Can choose length of stay there.

Re: Flight centre vs online FINNAIR booking

True. Yes at the proper official website is much an ideal understanding but they too have a issue there. For example they say choose the (m twin room with meal) if i was to choose this with a meal. One would wish to know exactly what is this meal and where and what is it before i can pay my booking. I won't pay for this option if i didn't new exactly what it is.. It could be a dinner meal or just a light meal or something extremely expensive and o i might not even like it. So its jut the (lack) of information given on the official website.

However with the official website you can correctly choose just a day stay a block of 6hours or additional hours by adding them before you pay the booking.

But then if i was to go on booking .com website for this hotel price will not change but then booking .com requires me to add in 1 full night stay while i am only going to be there for a under 6 hour block on the 1 day and not an over night stay. So again not very useful set up with that well not because booking .com is bad at all its because how the hotel is set up to be so i suppose the hotel itself needs to correct things specially the official website. You go have a look at it. Tell me if you can find anything that tells you what meal are they referring to other then knowing they are (top chefs) without knowing what your going to have to eat.

Sure it is a new management but they dont seem to fully be 100% prepare for everything such as what ive been saying the meal thing. Or that the company has the hotel listed on booking. While booking. com requiers normally the correct date arrival and departure where they requier at least one night over stay to correct the departure when booking a room. But again this hotel is a transit hotel inside the airport they are mainly a short stay from 6 hour to over night if require but it is mainly a block of 6 hours stay normally on the same (day) and not always just the (over night stay which is following day)

Anyhow they need to correct things to keep it sabilizes with the meaning they are saying on the official website otherwise how would one knows what this meal is about. Or is it extra charge or is it something i cant eat because such. So little things like that.

Never mind i will choose a (M twin room) of 6 hour block and not choose with a meal because i simply don't no what meal they are referring too. Its just the lack of (information) been provided on the website.

Anyhow the reason why im staying or going to stay there its on terminal 1 i arrive on terminal 1 with qantas and 6 hour later depart on terminal 1 again with finnair off to europe. All convenient and also because instead of seating around at airports for under 6 hours doing nothing i would rather have a bed and my bathroom to refresh myself in order to be up and energize again for my long haul flight to europe. This is the very smart way to deal with with know days when it comes to (busy international airports world wide) sort of to speak.
Very handy to have this hotel in there really.

thanks
barbra

Re: Flight centre vs online FINNAIR booking

Plenty of food options in the terminal anyway to get something to eat. I would be inclined to book room only myself and make my own meal arrangements.

Re: Flight centre vs online FINNAIR booking

Barbra - I would suggest a few things:

  • book directly via the hotel website - you can enter in the exact hours.
  • don't worry about booking .com or any other site - they sell millions of hotel rooms, but almost all of them will be overnight, not airport style where you can stay a few hours. That's why their booking systems aren't designed to handle it
  • don't worry about the meal. You are unlikely to be hungry. You will have a meal on the plane just before you land into Singapore. You'll have the lounge in Singapore to eat a meal, and will be served another meal right after take-off. You won't go hungry!

Do you really need a hotel in Singapore? You can sleep on the flight to singapore and will not be tired. The lounge will have showers. Plenty of activites to enjoy at Singapore airport - free city tours, free movie cinema, beautiful gardens.

Re: Flight centre vs online FINNAIR booking

Hotel breakfast or dinner issue: email the hotel and ask what they offer and other costs involved.

Not asking the hotel direct = no answers provided.

Re: Flight centre vs online FINNAIR booking

No point in email them because they usually never get back on time or never reply. Ive read the reviews about the lack of inquiery, However they just new managements so maybe they just learning to be good business,. However the property is very comfortable Its only just a standard room with the runway view off the window and just 2 single beds with a large tv and a bathroom. Nothing else. Yes i might as well book a room on the official website so im not confused with the other website such as booking .com as im only requiring a block of 6 hours and not an over night.

I will indeed be hungry,, With my last experience i went i end up buying something take away and bring it back to the hotel room. Easy made. Almost end up walking out the hotel room with slippers on accidentally to the buy a meal dressed like that. Remembering im in a airport and not in a giant hotel itself.. :) you get this from being jetlag i suppose. But its a nice to relax because i know i be on a long haul flight next within hours. So i need to refresh myself otherwise you get sick on board.

The reason why i want this is i have 6 hour wait at the airport. Instead of wondering at the airport for 6 hours and knowing i just arrive in singapore from australia on a 8 hour seating on the plane i would rather lay on the ebd and peacefully relaz because the next flight is proximate 12 hours to get to europe next. So yes it is exhausted for me and for my age anyways.

I wont add in the meal as no one really knows and the lack of information been stated on the website.
Yes i will just buy a meal or a sandwich with a drink and just bring it to the hotel room otherwise. It's what i actually done on my last trip.

All good i should get this booking underway. I do also believe they will charge my card straight away. So i have to print out the invoice or whatever it is i am suppose to print out when i book it online. Easy done.

Same. The booking for just about everything has been done.
Now unless anything changes some things cant be change or cant get your worth money back.
I dont no if my booking there will be a change. Previewsly on my airline booking for example my flight was meant to fly at 1055am qantas to singapore. But 4 months before my departure they change it to 12 midday to singapore. So little things like this does happen. Just hope they dont with this booking i have. It seems correctly that the time i am departing are correct like last time they did.

Just one thing though. When waiting to board the finnair a350 since i be a (priority boarding) How do i know when exactly i have to line up? if they say business priority and they all line up and then the rest have to all wait for economy with no more (priority) wouldnt i be along with the business class as priority as well ? oh though i be a economy but priority boarding. I don't no. Last trip i believe they announce business class priority tickets to line up now. But does that includes economy priorty as well? course if not. then my ticket indicating (priority) would be useless otherwise. Because you would end up baording with the rest of the economy passengers by all means as normal once the business class has board the plane 10minutes later. Only just saying this just incase they mention priority only as for business. Unless i missed understood last time and didnt hear saying (people with priority boarding pass line up first) maybe that could be why. But didn't took much notice of that because actually my last time trip was in fact priority boarding but never priority and just lined up as normal with the other passangers.

Also what does (security priority ticket) actually means or priority security? i notice on one of my boarding pass had that on my economy flight. Not sure it just below it said security.. not sure.

Ask at the gate; they will let you know when you can board.
