Fly Well. New QF Covid procedures

Does anyone know if JQ are operating their full menu? I'm hoping since I have the max bundle I can still get a G&T

JQ's website says 'for the time being they have reduced their food and beverage offering'.

It would be ridiculous if JQ was running a full BOB menu yet Qantas says for safety reasons their crew can't even serve free tea and coffee :(

Don’t know about JQ but I was under the impression both VA and QF were banning alcohol and all other beverages apart from bottled water until early to mid July in Y and J?

Ah yes, but it costs QF to give you food, but it costs JQ if it can’t sell you food.

i just checked the JQ booking site and it definitely says inflight meal deal if you book a bundle. So I assume they are selling something otherwise they’re in a world of hurt selling something they have no intention to deliver.

i assumed the F&B restrictions, like the lounge closures, only applied during the essential traveller period. Now we are starting to open up again the lounges are opening and I assumed some kind of inflight service will come back.

When are they opening again?
QF staff at ADL seemed to think its about 2-4 weeks away still

Qantas said July

When the borders are properly opened by the high court or some bumbling premier?

The borders are properly open between NSW, ACT and VIC. No reason why SYD & MEL shouldn’t be opened, and to a lesser extent CBR

Some will not bother to fly while there is no service and no lounge. Hopefully an incentive to open up, in a safe and cuddly manner. On the cuddly note, making sure everyone is comfortable.....is painting a QF jet in indigenous colours the same as blackface now?

Wow..... ummm no and maybe you should read up on QF’s history working with and commissioning such Incredible m artwork. Very very off topic and pretty wild accusation.

Have a flight coming up, I’m going to keep the fly well pack as a souvenir, sell it on eBay in 10 years :) (Will take own supplies)

Well certainly there are various reasons for flying. Some actually do it for work and some actually do it to go somewhere for holidays and exploring and some do it to visit relatives and friends.

First time I've heard no lounge no fly - amusing to say the least.

If the main reason for catching a flight is to use the lounge, I think one needs to reassess their priorities.

Twas more than just no lounge that tipped my hand. No valet parking, no lounge, no social distancing, tiny bottle of water and joke meal service. Still driving, and enjoying a meal en route...

cheers skip

Asked on twitter and apparently all JQ services have no catering right now. Apparently they are reviewing how to reintroduce limited catering.

It's a bit misleading given they're still selling bundles which include food plus on a JQ flight I'm doing in a couple of weeks they even offered the option to buy a snack.

So when they say “For the time being we’ve reduced our food and beverage offering.”, they mean reduce to zero. Why don’t they just say that.

Ill expect a partial refund of the bundle I purchased then.

I wonder what magic they'd use to calculate that refund. The meal deals included with the bundle are also sold for $6 however you've arguably got a better deal than $6 with all the bundle inclusions so they might only give you a few dollars back.

Obviously things are a bit different if you've got a voucher with a dollar amount included in your bundle or purchased as a separate product.

I’ve always got a $10 voucher with a max bundle.

I flew with JQ last Monday. Definitely no food on flight, water on request.

I was allocated a middle seat and the flight was virtually full.

Also, they had to explain which way around the face masks should be worn which then resulted in some people turning them around having been wearing them and breathing into one side for a while. There are no instructions on the pack.
