The bonus points at 1st Choice are in a catalogue which lasts for another 8 days. The 2 for $75 at BWS lasts for 7 days.

In theory if you received a high enough point offer on lets say a bottle of wine, the points would be worth more then the the bottle of wine. Mmmm Pudding Guy meets the Wine guy?

Now I have to look carefully at the 1st Choice catalogue.

https://www.1stchoice.com.au/~/media/Files/Press/FirstChoiceLiquor_VIC.ashx

I think I have it worked out, the catalog has an indication that its a wine with 100 bonus points, but in store it says 200 per bottle, and its a two for one offer so its 400 points for every purchase.

So in effect the bottle of wine would be just under $4 each, after you factor in bonus points.

our dog will appreciate the treats and I'll take the 100 points. Now I need to do this a few more times with the EFTPOS 50 extra points offer. Starting to get into FlyBuys system after being a WW fan for the last few months since discovering AFF

I can confirm the 200 points is available in VIC.

Saturday I went to 1st Choice for a price match on 2 Jose Curevo Tequila for $75. Sale price was $40 for one bottle, they didn't have it on record so they had ring BWS to confirm. I also had 2 $5 eftpos cards from a Coke Can promotion. So further reduced the price I paid to $65. As a result of using the gift cards (and the cute checkout chick) and part paying with the CC, the stupid system would not accept my flybuys card. As they were eftpos cards it could not be refunded and the order could not be redone. I suggest a workaround by crediting a giftcard so we could do the transaction again with the flybuys scanned first, by the checkout lady sighed that she could not as their were no supervisor or managers present??? Saturday Night and no managers present on the busiest night of the week? Ok the checkout chick said I just need to ring Flybuys on Monday to get points credited.
I relented and so today I rang up Flybuys and informed I would receive the 75 points today and the 1000 points in a month. As 1075 is worth $5.375, this further reduced the price to $29.82c a bottle!

I considered posting this comment as the start of a new thread but decided against it. One of the flybuys gereral promotions since the relaunch has been my5. I've used the promotion many times to save money on basic items. The end date of the program is listed as October 31 which isn't far away. Has anyone heard anything about whether this feature of the program will continue after this date?

Thanks for the article. I got an email from flybuys confirming they are ending the my5 so they can try other promotions. I still haven't got my coupons yet. Oh well, maybe my emails will be getting more interesting.

Kmart Tyre and Auto have bonus flybuys points on some of their tyres at the moment. If you buy 4 tyres of the right brand you can get 10,000 bonus flybuys points. I have no idea whether their prices are competitive so if you are interested in tyres it would be best to do some research on the KTAS website or ring the store. I got an email from KTAS but it sounds like a general offer rather than a targeted one. There is a limited time on the offers but I can't remember the date. I think it was somewhere in the middle of November.

I haven't had to send in faxes of receipts. They did ask me for these but I managed to convince them to take receipt details over the phone and by email. They have said that if I chase things again I will have to fax in copies of the receipts. This is ridiculous given that some senior flybuys staff would have access line by line to our receipts just like the senior edr supervisors do. I've had all sorts of problems with the call center staff so now I use the faq/contact us form and give them details. I then ask them to call me if they need more details.

I am just about to chase up 800 points from a Target targeted offer. I'll let you know if they try the fax receipt line on me again.

I know this seems off topic but I just thought I'd follow this up. I managed to get my 800 points from the Target offer. It took a series of emails and a phonecall. My advice to members is keep track of your bonus points from both general and targeted offers and keep following them up if once it gets to 4 weeks after the end of the promotion date (not the transaction date). Try not to incur any costs in following things up otherwise this cuts into the value of the bonus points. I found the faq contact us system to be useful most of the time. They may ask you to call the customer service line in their email reply so now I always ask them to call me on my mobile before they have a chance to make this comment.

This isn't exactly a general promotion for bonus points but it involves the possibility of saving money at the Coles Express Petrol Stations so I thought it was worth mentioning anyway. I have read reports that both Coles Express and Woolworths Caltex have lowered the prices of specific generic branded bread and milk at their petrol stations. This would make it cost effective in some circumstances to purchase these goods at the petrol station rather than at the supermarket. These goods could be used to get a higher fuel discount when paying for petrol. The Coles Express qualifying limit is $2 for an extra 2 cents per litre, so you could buy 2 litres of milk($2) or one loaf of bread ($2.30) to get this extra discount.

The points rate at Coles Express is 1 point per $2 spent instead of 1 point per $1 spent at Coles Supermarket. You wouldn't get as many base points for the bread or milk but you would save more on your petrol by getting products you were going to buy at some stage anyway.

I have no idea how long this deal will be available.

The 8 cent voucher promo has now been extended again and lasts until Easter. Add a 2 cent voucher from spending in store as suggested above and everyone can get a 10 cent voucher for Coles express.

and trade in 1000 points and make it 20c

anything over 50 litres and you are making each FB point worth more than 0.5c which is the going rate for pretty much any other use. We have to do more than one car to do this :)

Coles has a new fuel promo.

Tempting fuel offer but not good enough for me. I'm getting targeted fuel offers from Flybuys which are actually better than this. I usually only have to spend $80 to get 16 cents per litre. I could take this general offer up and get $110 worth of groceries. I could then use my Tell Coles coupon to get the total down to $105 and then use my weekly flybuys coupon to get the total to just over $100. I'd get the 15 cent voucher then plus 100 points (300 points if I end up also getting the triple points email). I don't think I'll do it however. If I spend $100 on my card then future Flybuys offers will start coming out at this amount and I don't want that to happen again. I think I'll just be happy with all my 8 cent vouchers which I can increase to 10 cents by buying bread or milk at Coles Express. I still have a 14cent voucher from a few weeks ago to spend once the petrol price gets lower in Melbourne.
