Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

In most (but not all) cases, it is just substituting what would be a discount (in this case $2) with a lump of points. Sometimes, there is a bit of both. Either way, it is probably the manufacturer paying for it.

I've had cases where the bonus points value exceeds the cost of the item....

That's a clear profit or what I call an "arb"

I' fund one of these once in a blue moon but most of the times its a too small value to retire off:)

As for these bonus points. I try and keep in perspective the bonus points. Eg buying a more expensive brand of cat food for the bonus points even though my cat wouldn't know the difference.

I try and keep things in perspective in my points hunting quest and not pay more for a smaller return

A good haul this weekend:

Bought the Only1 $50 gift card last week (2000 points)
Did a shop with it this weekend ($55) and adding up the bonus points on whole shop (3x + 500points for over $50) plus various product bonuses from things I kinda needed anyway (25x, 10x, 750, 400, 300, 250), I should end up with an estimated extra 2532 points.

So 4532 for a +- $60.95 spend.

500 points for $50 spend before Sunday.

I don't really need that much so I don't think I will. This weeks docket deal was triple points which doesn't sweeten the deal enough. If the docket deal had been another 500 points for $50 I might have considered it. 1000 points means at least a 10% discount. I think I'll just keep using the stockpile which I built up from the Coles and Woolworths offers and just get the fresh products and a few half price specials, like Cadbury Chocolate. I'm guessing it will be somewhere under $30 at Coles this week.

For the small group of members who got the current round of coupons, What week are we up to? I've lost track since not getting any coupons. I really hope the next round of coupons is more generous.

Week 11 about to begin. Just one more week after that to go.

Not too optimistic about the levels for next coupons (if so lucky) given the emails over the past few weeks. Scrooge is back in the house!

My docket/coupon spend levels have been around $120-130 and only has gone down to $100 after 3 months of no big spends. Got a triple point docket deal. Plenty of targeted deals but nothing appealing.

Yes, things haven't been too exciting for the last few weeks. Product based offers seem to be in season but it's rare for many of them to be useful. Having said that I have picked up about 1000 points in product based offers lately.

Thanks for the info on the coupons.

I got a triple points offer which runs from Monday to Thursday. It's always interesting when they have a triple points offer which ends on a Thursday. That usually means there's a 4 week offer about to start.

I only do a few dollar trsnactions at coles

however i got a 100x don smallgoods at deli ,
so that means I spend $10, I get 1000 points which is 50% off......

I might see if any of them are on special

That would be a very useful offer for me. The don smallgoods I buy at the deli never go on special.

I also noticed I have a 3x your biggest spend offer as well.

Does that mean for a 10 dollar transaction I'd get 3000 points?

No.

You'd get 20 bonus points for the triple points offer. There is a note somewhere in the terms and conditions which says that other bonus points offers don't get triple points.

Got a 4 week offer: 5000 points for $80 spend (in one or multiple transactions)/week.
Wont bother with that.

Also received a 5x points for $60 at Liquorland.
Not sure if I'll bother with that either, unless El Jimador or Espolon is on sale.

I predicted the 4 week offers were just around the corner.

I got 4 x $50 spend for 10,000 points. That works well for me.

The first week is really long. I won't make my first purchase until Thrusday or Friday of next week but that will still count. I only need a few more things this week and I'll probably get them at Woolworths. I did a small shop yesterday at Coles and got triple points from the email offer. There was no docket deal on the receipt.

I got the 4 x $50 for $50 off or 10,000 points as well. I know it says it excludes gift cards, does that mean just coles ones? IE can one buy the "retail" gift cards and have them count for the promo? (JB hifi, netflix, etc)

I believe it's all gift cards but happy to be corrected.

I received 4 x $100, but hubby's finally dropped to 4 x $50. We're away from mid-week 3 so will sit this one out!

The fine print says excludes "all gift cards" and it also excludes itune cards. I believe that covers both coles and non coles gift cards.

Ah, thank you :).

I will pass on this then. No way little old me can justify $50 a week for a month!

NB: I am neither little nor old! But $200 at Coles? Nah.
