Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

Good news - Mrs 2tall4Y called Flybuys customer service, who confirmed the offer had indeed been activated and her account was credited with points equal to the 50% discount we should've received off the lamb shoulder.

Thank you Flybuys!

Did either of you manage to get 50% off the lamb? My wife received the same offer on her account and is adamant she activated it - after getting home from Coles, she realised that she paid full price for the lamb :(

Was it the correct cut of lamb? It was a shoulder roast only, not the more traditional leg roast. Had it been marked down with a special barcode? If it didn't have the right barcode the system wouldn't have recognised the product.

Chase it up with flybuys through your preferred contact method. It could just be a glitch. I've heard of this happening before. Good luck.

On the topic of special offers with no or little stock, I got an offer for some crumbed chicken burgers from the meat section. Went to one Coles today and there were none in stock in the variety that was a free giveaway.

Thanks for the feedback. The flybuys offers are integrated into the same systems used for catalogue specials in order to boost stocks in anticipation of greater demand, but we regret this instance and those reported recently for other meat offers. We have raised this with the relevant departments at Coles; we appreciate this isn't a good experience for flybuys members.

I got the same offer for free crumbed chicken burger patties. I received the email on Monday afternoon/evening and visited a local Coles store Tuesday lunchtime. Lucky for me, the shelf area allocated to that particular product was full and I managed to snag one pretty easily. Mind you, the "full shelf" consisted of only about 8 packets so I guess they could have easily sold out later the same day with people on their way home from work etc.

I guess it was just fortuitous that I was able to visit reasonably early in the offer period and I went to a Coles store that's not a particularly busy one ie located in a smallish, out-of-the-way shopping centre and not a big, busy centre.

If there were none on the shelf, I would have just asked someone in store. They usually have stock 'out the back' they refill with.

My local Coles in BNE area was all out of the freebie chicken burgers but I have errands to do tomorrow so will try again. It's just really annoying they didn't plan ahead for the demand. What time of day do I have to go when they would have them restocked?

I got the free chicken burgers in a smaller Coles in a strip mall, looks like that's the secret. Avoid large malls.

So after 9 days of being a loyal FlyBuys shopper at Coles, I have recieved my first targeted offer (spend $80 and get a $15 voucher), with 3 days to achieve it.

Is there any pros/cons to either achieving or not achieving the first targeted offer I receive?

If you achieve it, then any future offers may require a spend of a similar amount or higher (ie. $80/week for 4 weeks)

If I recall correctly, a short window offer sometimes means a 4 week stint is coming

Might hold off for a 4 week offer or a smaller $ amount then, we don't get the keys to our rental apartment until Sunday week (only recently arrived in Aussie) and am currently staying with relatives so no real need to shop up big at the supermarket outside of little bits and bobs every couple of days at the moment.

Got a $10 for a 6 pack of Carlsberg offer at Liqourland on my Coles receipt today on the other hand, an offer which I will have no qualms with redeeming.

If you decide to take up the offer, be very careful with the $15 voucher. You only have a limited time to use the voucher before it expires.

Welcome to AFF and welcome to Flybuys.

Email 1,000 points for $50, runs from Sat to Monday. Interesting. Allows me to tie in with this week's 1000 for $40 coupon. But I don't like it that they're already upping my spend targets only in week 3 of my docket deal pack.

Yes, I got that offer as well. I always thought the $40 coupons were a fluke. I didn't expect any other offers to stay that low. The first time I tried to activate the offer I got the "oops that offer doesn't exist" message but a few hours later I was able to activate it.

I also got another badly worded 10cent per litre discount fuel offer. Once again it talked about "a week" in the main wording but the offer only goes for 6 days starting today and it's effectively only 5 days as it didn't arrive until late tonight.
