Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

Got one of those spend $XX in one transaction get YY00 points offers which I thought a high target (180% of normal spend threshold), but activated all the same.

Then while shopping noticed a new supply of the Whiskas special 12 packs sitting on the shelves coinciding with buy 2 for $14. Whiskas is running a promotion for buy2 get a $10 JB Hifi egc (limit 5 per email address).

The maths

10 packs of Whiskas @ 2 for $14 = $70, less 5% discount = $66.50

less 5 x $10 JB Hifi egcs = $15.50
less [points offer (60% points), = 7,000 x .60 = 4,200 points
[ normal points = 70 points
[ Triple points docket ending 24/10 = 140 points
[ Triple points docket ending 31/10 = 140 points
4,550 points @ 0.5 cpp (general value per FB point)
$22.75

So Coles paid me $7.25 per 10 packets of Whiskas recently, expiry on the Whiskas 2019.

Now did I mention the VFF points from purchasing the Coles gcs?

That was PER 10 packets, it is amazing how many packets of 12 you can fit in a trolley, simply amazing (and lucrative).

Now we do have cats BUT if you went the full circle and donated them so tax deductible then this should rank up there with the best I suspect.

Thank you Coles, thanks you Whiskas, thank you Amex.

However, if I valued the FB points at what the last redemption was worth (Suitesavers),

= 4,550 FB points @ 2.9145 cents
= $132.61

Changes the result by (132.61-22.75) = $109.86

Meaning each 10 packets we effectively earnt $117.11 or $11.71 per packet.

Don't you just love being paid to take products home!

I had also had a deal at WW when they offered me 450 WW points per pouch and WW had it on sale and I also took advantage of a Coles deal of $4.40 per box.

I paid $132 (30 boxes of Cat Food, 360 pouches) for $150 worth of JB GCs plus many points. So I got discounted JB GCs and bascially free Cat Food plus a ton of points.

I got 2 offers which basically says I have to spend $200 in one hit today to get 6000 FB pts...what to buy, what to buy apart from the usual weekly groceries?!

Supplies for the office that you claim back? I often buy water, coffee, party platters ect and have delivered to my office.

My coupons have arrived today. The target has increased to $50 (they were $40) for 500 points (same as last time). The other weeks went from triple points to double points. The Christmas week coupon is $80 target for 750 points. The product based coupons are for Coles brand products which I don't purchase. I figured my target would go up as I used most of the previous coupons.

A friend of mine also received coupons for $50/500 points and double points. Her previous coupons were $40/500 points and triple points. She didn't use any of her coupons and can't understand why the target went up.

I think I agree with the theory used here that the current round of coupons are less generous than the ones that started in July, regardless of what members have been spending at Coles in the meantime.

I found another coupon which gave me another 1000 FB points if I spend more than $130...so by spending $200 or more today, I would receive 7000 bonus FB points which is 2975 Velocity pomts or 3400+ Velocity points if I TF during a 15% bonus. I was feeling very pleased with myself when the checkout total hit $218 until I found a supermarket coupon in my wallet when I got home which would have netted 3x base poinrs as well :( Can't win them all I guess ;)...oh, I have enough groceries to last at least 3 weeks, and household items to last 6+ months now :(

My coupons also arrived today. I, too, got $50/500 points which I think is much the same as last time (can't remember exactly but I think the last offer was a higher spend for higher points, so the points to spend ratio is similar). The alternate weeks are triple points (not double points). The Christmas week is $80/750 points.

The other coupons are mostly Coles brand Christmas products (mince pies, Christmas pudding etc) which I probably wouldn't buy anyway and definitely not before the coupon expiry date of early-mid November.

My coupons have arrived. My spend has increased from $70 to $100 and points from 500 to 750. Didn't FB notice that I only achieved $70 once in the last set of coupons?? Xmas week the new target is $130. We will be on a cruise. So only the triple points coupons will get a workout this time.

Maybe a mea culpa from FB. I just received an offer of spend $60 for 2000 points by this Friday. That is a much more realistic target.

Both accounts received coupon books. Very different amounts. One is alternating $60/500 and double points with a bunch of First Choice triple point offers, the other $90/500 and triple points with a bunch of Christmas food bonus points.

Definitely not as generous as the previous book.

A friend of mine just received an offer of spend $40 at Coles between Wed and Friday and receive 2000 points. This sounds really good. Maybe they've seen the Woolworths Rewards "We miss you" offers.

So 7418 FB points (including 200 bonus pts for buying apples ;) ) posted to my account today :) :)....I would have got another 436 pts if I hadn't forgotten to scan my triple points coupon as well ;) Can't complain at all!!...and got another one today, earn 2000 FB pts if I spend $100 in the next 3 days; have to let this one go as there is absolutely nothing more I need to buy from Coles for the moment!!

I encourage everybody to carefully check your transactions/points earn online as our family's accounts have not been credited with any triple points coupons, docket deals etc for 6 or more weeks it seems.

Yes, I know that the 'triple points' means you get credited an extra 2x the relevant points.

They were working up to late August, but from then on not one posted.

We've been getting docket 3x points offers virtually every mid-week small purchase and on some weekend shopping dockets as well. Most dockets last 2 weeks so it is quite common to have an offer (as did last week) with one docket expiring 24th October and the other one expiring 31st October, add a mailed coupon and we should have received three postings of 2x extra points.

They scan properly and show the 1 cent charge which is then shown as reversed on the docket - yet NONE have turned up in any of our family's accounts. Even the mailed coupons do not appear to be working for the triple points either.

Whilst not having any issues with the Triple Points/Docket deals posting, none of my bonus points offers have posted from the week 9-15 October. I have raised it with FB so waiting for a response.

Finally signed up a few weeks ago. Have been getting regular offers of spend $50 over 2 weeks and other offers. I just cannot spend that much.

This week I received an offer of spend $40 and earn 2,000 Flybuys points. Activated and spent $42.60 today. Nothing on docket regarding the offer. Is this normal? I did buy a tin of baby formula so hope that's not excluded.

As far as I know Baby Formula isn't excluded in this offer. I remember coming across either a Flybuys offer or a Woolworths offer where baby formula was excluded which I found very unusual. I haven't seen that condition since.

Flybuys don't always put a note on your receipts about targeted offers. Sometimes the receipts have a notation about the 4 week offers but they don't usually show anything on other offers. I'm not sure about the 2 and 3 week offer deals.

Yes, the notations can be quite sporadic. I've just completed a 4-week offer - Weeks 1 and 2, there was a "congratulations, your qualifying spend has been registered" message on the receipt, nothing on the Week 3 one, then did my Week 4 spend this morning and got a "You've earned 10,000 bonus points" confirmation on the receipt.
