Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

Just 200pts for buying Nutella (edit: ripoff Kraft branded Nutella). No 4 week promos... just the coupons in the mail. No spending at supermarkets this week!

Fly Buys Targeted Bonus Promotions - tracking the offers

Same 4 week offer which sparked a thought - given we were away and physically unable to spend - how did the offers change from 2 weeks before gone, 5 weeks away and now back a few weeks?

4 week offer in early Dec had same spend but offered half the rewards.

Some one week offers while away offered 500 points for a higher spend one week and then with zero spend you saw the following week have same spend but 750 points.

Then as those offers failed - cue 5 weeks of at first double points for spending, then triple points then 5x points.

Qn - how did those of you here the entire time (& spending) see your offers go from start Dec to now?

I've been getting 4 weeks offers last year, mostly at the same spend, $50. I think one of the offers was $60. Reward offered was 10,000 points, same as this one.

The last 4 week offer ran across a couple weeks of November and a couple of weeks in December. Target was $50 then and my target is $50 now.

Most of the offers since then haven't been that exciting. Email offers were mostly multiple points offered or 500 points for a target. Docket deals were few and far between across December/January/February.

I heard about 3 week offers with unusual spend targets but never received any. A friend of mine did and that's the only reason I saw one. The 3 week promotion for this friend overlapped one of the 4 week offers I was taking up. I can't remember which one.

I have been spending as little as possible in the weeks when there were no decent offers worth combining. Instead of spending $50 to take up offers I'd spend less than $30.

Also received the 4 weeks offer but the minimum spend ($70) is too much for me.

Over the last month or so, I have received some multiple bonus points offer, a number of product specific bonus points offer (some are good like 175 points for Mount Franklin sparkling water, some not so good). Like rainbowgirl, I haven't received many docket deals since December.

Interesting.

4 X $130 for me. Will see how it goes. Would have preferred a slightly lower target. Already managed the first week. Fortunately phone credit is not on the list of exclusions. I'm letting the wife dictate where and how we spend our money at the moment. She knows I would LIKE to achieve this target if we can. But I am not interested in spending more than we need too or can just to make it happen. Que sera, sera.

I got the offer for 10 000 points over 4 weeks for $90 spend each week. Achieved today, but might bridge too far for next 3 weeks. Mrs Bodie and I have stocked up previously on shops so will be interesting whats on sale over the next few weeks, to see if get over the line.

No, surely it is a much more important relationship (& expensive) - He is CONSULTING obviously, never advising...

I'm not sure what it is. I just know I am not allowed to be in charge of the money. For now. Fair enough. I have made it clear though that without a serious effort to accumulate FF points across the board, her wishes of an overseas holiday in 2017 will likely remain unfulfilled. C'est la vie.

Received a spend $40 at Liquorland every week for 3 weeks for a $50 liquorland gift card. Good offer, activated and will chase :D *cheers*

I got the same offer and spending $120 at Liquorland to get $50 back is worthwhile as long as I only buy specials (and only spend just over $40 each week.

As a relative newbie, there are two names on one account but have different numbers. We only get one set of printed offers, does it matter which fly-bys card I scan against the printed offers? What about the docket deals, do they need to be scanned against the same cardy that got them in the first place?

If you only have the one account, either card can scan the docket deals and the mailed out coupons and get the bonus points offered. There should be one name on the coupons but there is also a notation that says it can be used by anyone on the same account.

However, you are better off opening a separate account for the 2nd person so that you can access two sets of offers.

Then you can 'enhance' your benefits as opposed to Westfarmers'.

Thanks for clarifying. I may think of 'separating' the accounts. So, open a new account and delete that name from the original account. It's OK to have the same address etc?

I spend so little that once I get enough for a basic EY light, I'm retiring from the temptation to buy stuff I really could do without.

I can't foresee any time in my life going forward where I would consume/need to spend $40 a week on alcohol even for a short period. I think I have officially lost my youth.

Aaaactualy, upon further reflection as a very low spender, it may be better to keep the points altogether in one account to enable a move over to EY in one go and hope there are no enhancements to either program before I reach my goal. Just a thought for us low spenders reaching for EY.

I got that too, however there's no way I'll be able to do it - that's a lot of alcohol for little ol' me :)
