I remain dubious of any rumours that come from posters with 2 posts to their name.
That said with LTG, I always have a soft landing from WP.
Short answer is yes.Question is: If I meet the target for this year, but not the next - will I have a chanced of being comped next year??
I was comped silver despite being 180 SCs short.
It's quite a generous comp. I've been silver for about 4 years.
Let's hear 'em.....
Pretty much. BUT you probably need to be doing a bit of regular flying to
Position yourself for the opportunity.
Hi Guys, I've done 50 flights so far this year (MLB-->ADL) and i'll be reaching approx. 1200 SC's before my flights end. I usually do 2 international trips a year, but this is my first real high volume travel under the QFF. Is there any likelihood that I would get bumped to Platinum?

Oh and you might want to edit your post, MLB airport is in Florida USA, I'm assuming you mean MEL right here in Victoria, Australia.
Comped Gold this year with 60 SCs last year. Thought they misread it as 600.
Previous year was also comped Gold with ~500SCs on the soft landing policy.
About 2100SCs the year before. I think they take a few years into consideration but only guessing.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what do you mean by "comped"? Does Qantas bump you up to Silver even if you're a couple of SCs short?
A 'comp' usually refers to QF extending the status for another year even though the member has not earn the requisite SC to retain the status.
QF rarely (if ever) bumps a member to the next status level if he/she does not meet the qualification requirement. So no bump up to silver if one does not reach the SC threshold.
