Champagne in the F Lounge is probably not an issue for you anyway Nigel???
Meaning that as I'm not a "WP" I haven't experienced the delights of the F lounge?
Well yes sadly a reduction in my travel budget over the last year or so means I don't travel in J (or F internationally) much these days
(unless the client is paying) I prefer to use my capital to grow my business, but I've spent a few long afternoons there in my time as a FF.
Anyway I'm still not a big fan of "bubbly"I think it's overrated, but I'm sure there are plenty of champagne connoisseurs out there
in FF land which makes my opinion just that-my opinion, not asking anyone else to agree with me.
One mans meat as they say,is another mans poison.
Cheers

BTW my post was meant in jest (mostly)

If i wanted a YAK (God forbid shoot me now!) I'd walk down to the local!! the stuff is vile! So glad they have the Crownies in the fridge!

I thought everyone knew that Crown is just Fosters with extra glucose added at the bottling stage.:p:p

You can all keep your vb, yak and crownies, vile stuff. I have 2 augustiner Helles in the fridge that my brother kindly gave me when he returned from Germany last week. So I don't even have to walk to the local. But if I had to go to Munich to get more at least I could enjoy the champagne in the F Lounge.

I'll go you one better, I'm waiting at LHR in the *A lounge right now for a flight to TXL, so will have a local German beer tonight :D

The Devaux was always a sweetish number for me. It was good in the beginning, but when they introduced the Taittinger I changed camps (or rather, champs). I sampled all four champagnes again last time I was in the MEL T2 FL, just for old times' sake. And it just confirmed that I'm not sad to see it go (though it does limit the palate pleasing range a bit).

Was never quite a fan of the Bollinger Rose, but then it might just be the day rather than the drop. The Bollinger Special Cuvee is alright, though of course it doesn't beat the Grande Cuvee 1999 (which is all but extinct now), but it does beat the living daylights out of the Cattier they were serving in the BA T5 GF lounge the other day!

Was never a fan of the Deveaux anyway, but this Taittinger with Tanqueray No. 10 is making the perfect breakfast gin fizz right now :)

Its pretty sad that Crown is considered a "premium" beer by its makers....
And VB.....I'd get more enjoyment out of a glass of water than a VB, and save on the dry reaching!

Coopers is probably the best mass produced beer in Australia IMHO.

Actually I was astounded they kept serving the shots to you!!
