Free ALL Gold Status for QF Silver or above - also Points Club Plus

What's the benefit of waiting until you receive gold to book? I thought the benefits are realised at check in unless you are after the guaranteed room?
i was overseas and the next day booking would have the late checkout would have helped for the afternoon flight departure.

From memory it feels like it's been 3 weeks since processing by QF but it seems ALL isn't doing anything until they have all the nominations.

Probably certainty. I mean we expect the status to come through 4 weeks after the end date..... but if you have other status then i'd go with the one you have now, not the one you should have by then.

thanks, just wanted to be sure as i just made a booking without status. Wouldn't want ot be missing out on something because i didn't wait. Can always cancel and rebook i guess if price hadn't changed or perhaps call and have the booking updated.

No human at the property or Accor is looking at a booking until about 24 hours out from your check-in, by which time and if the status has been upgraded, then Gold is all they will see. There shouldn't be any need to cancel and rebook, or update them (provided the ALL member number was on the booking). The only advice I'd give is to try and book flexible if you can, in case something goes awry with the upgrade... but other than that, book now while more inventory is there.
 
Actually thought about it and did not join Accor plus, i'd recalled reading some people with families not being able to make good use of the free night which wouldn't work for me.
Good call, imho. I'm not sure if others have had my experience but Accor Plus really isn't particularly good value for families - the exception being the dining discounts (which don't count children and allow the adults to keep their pro rata per head discount, although many restaurants won't apply the discount to kids menu) but the part that really gets me is that 100% of any red hot rooms or stay offers I have ever had any interest in will be applied to a particular room rate, lets say "Superior" which will have a limit of 2 adults meaning any family bookings are full rack rate, so you basically miss out on the deals part of the membership entirely.

Similarly, with the one night stay, it's going to be a stay for a 2 adult room and you'll need to pay the difference for one that has higher occupancy.

Its been about a month now so I thought they would have had time to do it...
 
Yes, upgraded to platinum after one night, the platinum offer was available to P1's. MrsM a WP has not been upgraded, I think the complimentary general upgrade was within 30 days after the registration period close date on 12 Aug?

I clicked on the qantas link to get the Accor gold upgrade. It came up with a confirmation screen to say it had been linked. However I might have two different Accor accounts. I wanted to make sure the correct Accor account is upgraded. Does anyone know how you check which account number has been upgraded to gold on tHe qantas site. I can’t see anywhere to check this.

It will be the one linked to your Qantas account. It should show in your Accor account that it is linked.

We are only at 3 weeks since the end of the offer, so I'd say 1 more week. while the wording gave us hope it might occur sooner than 4 weeks after the end of the offer, it seems it will not be the case.

Just checked my Accor Plus Silver gratis thanks to Amex Plat Charge Card. Renewed til 31.8.2023, as Accor Plus Silver aka ALL Silver, Stay Plus night showing, but NOTHING about ALL Gold after registering more than a month ago, and I switched ALL from AirFrance KLM Flying Blue to Qantas ages ago - more Kwantas hype and fail to deliver? Sounds like flying Qantas domestically in Business. Qantas Domestic USED to support always loss activities of Qantas International ... Seriously Qantas is ONLY to be flown by some of us with Business Awards to burn up our hundreds and hundreds of thousands of AAdvantage Miles

Already answered above, you just have missed it, the terms indicate it will be applied in another weeks time…
 
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere (I did search but couldn't see it!) - I received the email offering upgrade to ALL Gold back in August and accepted - got the confirmation email but no upgrade to the ALL status yet. Anyone know what the timeframe is for this to kick in?

I think it was 4 weeks after the promotion ended, which was back on August 12 - so likely another week or two.
