Further Status Extension to 28 Feb 2023

I spoke to Velocity today, I was informed that anything I earned since the 1st October and 28th February wouldn’t count. I wish I didn’t fly VA between this period.

For the 8 month extension that is not correct. It would make no sense to only give you eight months to earn the required SC.

My current Status:

Eligible~ Platinum members will be extended up to 8 months from their review date.

How do I retain my Status?

Log into your My Velocity account on the Velocity website or visit the Velocity app to view how to retain your Status and what your current Benefit Period is.

You’ll need to:

- Earn 800 Status Credits
- Fly 8 Eligible Sectors

At the end of your Benefit Period we will assess the previous 12 months.

I was told by the agent the requal period would be 28th Feb 2022 until 1st March 2023

I called them this afternoon and can confirm who will have the previous 4 months from your review date count towards your 800 needed in 8 months time. So for my partner it will be 12/10/21 to 11/10/22.

I’m so confused. That’s what I was told, but I have a status review date 1st April 22
I see you were active early on in this thread.

Was your status extended back in September to end of March with a further promise of an extension to end of February 2023?

Not that SC seem to mean anything much this year, but I get confused looking at what does post. :)

I got more SC on weekend flying MEL-ADL than ADL-SYD, and both were Freedom/Flex fare buckets I think?

I can't see any way to earn exactly 22 x SC on 1 domestic flight?

I had thought all these were in the double SC promo, but apparently not.

Out of academic interest, any guesses why the longer flight got less SC, OK is in same initial zone of 1-750 km, but it should be 25 SC I think?? As should my January flights be?

I've had several other 22 x SC earns this year, and not sure how they arrive at 22.

Points earn never overly bothers me but as far as I knew Plats got a 100% extra? And a few 100 a flight total earn seems low to me.

Yep, this is what the rep said on the phone. She said I was part of the group awarded status until February 23 (promised a further extension she said at the start of March on the phone). She indicated my qual period would start 28th Feb 2022

Thanks, in that case what I have generally posted in this thread recently applies to you, as it does to me.

Today was the day - extended to 28th Feb '23.

Love it!

Suspect pretty much everyone else anxiously waiting will see this today/tomorrow also!

Cheers

Yoo Hoo - 8 more upgrades into accounts now, to use on some Choice fares, and the double points offer expires midnight tonight so locked a few in.

I've lost the plot with Review Dates - partner and I before COVID mess had dates 6 months apart. Current Cards say 31 March 2022. (But all our upgrades expired April 2022)

Website says both now Feb 28, 2023.

I still feel they have taken the COVID mess as a chance to aim at dragging Velocity into line with all US Hotel and Airline programs, of all members annual earn by a fixed date, indeed all being Calendar Years strictly, with a month or 2 grace period into the next year.

Who here has a review date OTHER than Feb 28. 2023?

With bonus status credits on paid fares and status credits on reward seats until the end of March, next month would seem like a good time to fly if your new review date is 28 February 2023 ;)

I do, only cos I managed to upgrade to WP recently, but it's close enough to Feb 28 2023 anyway.

By all being same review date they (airline) can work the incentives etc better for them.

SYD - HBA via MEL return in Business on the 16th of March....Feb 28th 2024 here we come!

Where’s the bonus status credits offer? I don’t see it

Well I’m not happy and will be making a call tomorrow. Seems I have been punished rather than rewarded.
My original review date was March 31st 2022 and I had already reached requalification back in August and had gifted a Platinum since and was well over half way to attempt another Platinum gift and with the flights I still have before the end of March I would have made it comfortably.
So with this “enhancement“ I have not only lost a month of my Platinum membership but have lost 620SC’s
