Dr FM will be vaccinated on Tuesday. She said she received the email saying they could book appointments and within half an hour booked and Tuesday was the earliest she could get. A friend booked in an hour and she was pushed to Thursday so definitely an enthusiastic uptake by NHS!The Oxford vaccine is rolling out Monday in UK with the plan to have everyone vaccinated by their Spring. My Aunt and Uncle in the UK, in their nineties, living in Oxford have had both immunisations done now. No side effects at all. They feel blessed.

And until we get our vax in Oz, we aren’t getting out of the country are we? Exemptions aside.
All the countries mentioned are getting daily deaths. Norway and Finland and the Middle East are probably closest to us as their cases/deaths are moderate to low. Eastern Europe has been hit very badly with the second wave.Interesting. Which of those countries are being swamped by the virus, and which are much like Australia?
I don't think the 2 are linked are they?
Baby steps . I don’t think anyone really knows. From what I was reading until we have enough people vaccinated to have herd immunity going, they can’t let vaccinated people in without quarantining still. But as with all advice with this virus, no doubt things will change as knowledge grows. And until we get our vax in Oz, we aren’t getting out of the country are we? Exemptions aside.
I support COVID-swamped countries vaccinating. I also support us in Oz having access, ASAP. I am yet to see any plan for the roll-out in Oz, notwithstanding talk of March 2021.
But as was explained by the CMO today no country in the world has granted full authorisation for any Covid vaccine.I support COVID-swamped countries vaccinating. I also support us in Oz having access, ASAP. I am yet to see any plan for the roll-out in Oz, notwithstanding talk of March 2021.
I don’t mind them doing a proper authorisation. Greg Hunt said it was going well and he was hoping all the boxes will be ticked ahead of schedule.I support COVID-swamped countries vaccinating. I feel quite sure they do . They have had national plans and definitions all the way through although states chose to ignore them and go their own way. I know I am a rampant optimist, but I think Aus has done an amazing job which is why we can get hysterical about 20 cases a day when other countries are getting hundreds of thousands.Hoping? So, what’s the roll-out plan, Mr Hunt? Distribution, priorities, or will it be a State responsibility. Does Oz have a plan?

Thank you for the link. However, this part ‘... The Government will develop a comprehensive monitoring and surveillance plan so that any vaccine provided to Australians will be monitored to ensure ongoing safety ...’ would seem to indicate that there’s probably no plan as yet.... Section 5 is probably of most interest to you
And certainly good for the people of 30-odd countries that their leaders are getting on with the job of vaccinating. But as was explained by the CMO today no country in the world has granted full authorisation for any Covid vaccine.
So, discussed today. Too much of a coincidence. The PM and Commonwealth CMO have confirmed a March start for the vaccination programme
PM says it would be 'very dangerous' to roll out the coronavirus vaccine prematurely
The Chief Medical Officer says the vaccine will not be a "magic bullet immediately" and the PM says a premature rollout of the jab would be "very dangerous". Here's a recap if you missed today's coronavirus press conference.www.abc.net.au
That particular document was dated August. It said they were in contact with the states to develop the plan. I feel very confident that it has happened . Given we roll out a flu vaccine every year within a fairly small window, I am honestly not sure why this is all that different, particularly if we use the Oxford one, rather than Pfizer where there aren’t storage issues. It is 2 injections, rather than one, but shouldn’t be that much of a stretch given we do this every year.Thank you for the link. However, this part ‘... Yes, I had looked at the document date and thought that it may not be all that up to date. Let’s hope that our confidence will be rewarded. That particular document was dated August.
