Quite balanced coming from him
He's amusing at times and PITB at others. I particularly liked his reported comment when told about Prince Harry's new "autobiography" :) Not postable here but very apt, IMHO. :)

Why is Alan Joyce asking the Feds to mandate vaccination of airline staff and workers? Why doesn't Qantas just make it a requirement for employment, especially after the Ballina Qld farce?

Doesn't want liability maybe. If a work place as far as I know makes it compulsory the law has only covered the Government and the manufacturer from liability.

Yes I know a lot of workplaces mandate Flu vaccinations, so I don't really understand the reluctance to also mandate COVID vaccination.

Easy, Flu vaccinations are just a thing that is done every year. COVID vaccinations, on the other hand are part of Bill Gates master plan and it is really not a vaccine that people are injected with it's a microchip instead that offers protection against the 5G transmitted illness  . Hence the reluctance.

Would that not make tracking airline staff much easier though?

The July 19th Vaccine Operations Centre - Weekly Operations report was finally released last night July 28.

The July 26th report was released a day earlier on the 27th.

No break-up of 1st/2nd doses of AZ in either.

Both reports continue to say supply of Pfizer trebled to 1 million per week which is incorrect. It went from 500,000 to 1,000,000 for the w/e 19 July.
Then remained at that level of 1,000,000 for the w/e 26 July - so odd to say it trebled that week?

1,000,000 Pfizer doses distributed w/e 26 July for injecting. Only 200,000 AZ doses requested across all States for w/e 26 July. So there is definitely a 'National Stockpile' of AZ in the millions.

To the w/e July 26 over 12.3m CSL domestically produced vaccine doses + another near 1 million overseas produced AZ + >8 million Pfizer doses. Total >22 millon doses received and 21 million were approved for injection..

…And she would have to have significant security clearances to work in aviation surely…
You mean like the 38 working at Sydney airport & Qantas based out of Sydney either convicted or involved in organised crime? Or even own a plane cleaning sub-contractor as the AN0M phone scam revealed?

Called liability - GPs would not administer AZ until fully indemnfied. Neither would Gladys at State hubs.

So, in the unlikely event you are required (forced to if you want to keep your job, pay your mortgage) to be vaccinated by your employer & you are one of the very unlucky cases - then I can think of at least four law firms that would be contacting your relatives.

Oh silly me. Thanks for explaining. I totally get it now ;).

Maybe that's why Alan is so keen to get all the QF staff jabbed then - that also makes sense now that you point it out ;)

Israel has just announced that they will start boosting with Pfizer shortly. Has shorter protection than AZ.

Israel has released the figures for Pfizer's efficacy against the delta variant 6 months after full vaccination.Initially it had 88% efficacy for symptomatic infection and over 97% for hospitalisation and severe disease.

At 6 months the efficacy for symptomatic infection had fallen to 39%,hospitalisation 88% and severe disease 91%.

So after 6 months they are far more likely to get symptoms if they catch it, but more importantly I presume if they are symptomatic they are likely to be more contagious? With those numbers the protection against hospitalisation and severe disease are still good after 6 months.

As per the NYT:

I do think that the government should do a series of advertisements in how to wear masks properly. I see a lot of masks not covering the nostrils and big gaps on both sides of the nose bridge!!

. I see a lot of masks not covering the nostrils and big gaps on both sides of the nose bridge!!

And you think that's because people don't know how to wear masks correctly or just choose not to?
