I would really like to see the evidence that staying indoors is better

Be very careful here. Don't poke the sleeping bear. 😂

But in reference to what you're suggesting, it's not the being inside that caused any of the issues but proximity to multiple other sources (people) for prolonged periods of time. And for a long duration.

The UK recently included some deaths that weren't counted before. And, Boris J did a similar thing to the Pres in the USA - underplay it and was also distracted so that the virus took hold. I think history will not shine well on Boris, but for now as he just escaped death, he is not being censured so much.

I think all the numbers are rubbery as we don't know who has included what or whom.

How on earth did it come to that!

I think it was France that assessed average number of deaths each year for the past five years and this year was an increase of something like 400%!

As per usual don't believe everything you read. This assessment from early in the year was obviously nowhere near the mark. Bit like economists and the Aussie property market LOL 😉 been wrong every year for the last 50 years or so.

I wonder what their definition of Preparedness means. Clearly bears little resemblance to reality.

Russia, Brazil and America have a lot in common.

Very interesting source, thanks! From it: Canada's profile is looking worse that USA etc, and Russia's profile - whose numbers I don't think can be trusted that much - much worse than USA. And of course there's everyone's favourite - Sweden.

Canada is the country we should be bench marking ourselves against - they have USA as close neighbour and we had China; we are both big, open countries with most of the population in handful of cities. They in winter, we in summer. Difference that their border with USA is/was porous; we closed ours with China quick-smart.

From my friends there, I think one of Canada's problems was that although their Federal structure is much like ours, they didn't get the Province/Federal cooperation buy-in.

Nearing the end of a survey, and it's been asking some interesting questions. I would think this survey has been commissioned by the UK government as it's probing what you've been doing lately, how you've been acting, if lockdown were to be lifted today what activities would you do etc.

The current concern in the U.S, for some people, is that although the infection rate for New York is beginning to drop the rate for the rest of the country is still rising. If the NY figures are removed the 'whole of country' curve is still upwards.

Yes still rising, with significant re-opening all in the works :(

Most countries seem to have clear plans. Particularly all the ones that have been successful, and there are now many countries that have been successful in varying degrees of flattening the curve.

What is the plan in the USA?

If Trump is not able to convince people that he is beyond blame and it really is all the fault of the Chinese and the economy still suffers, he’d probably be best to have a Plan B. I wonder what it might be to get him re-elected.

The plan? ...to try and boost the stock market so a certain family and their mates are better off.

How are people finding postage to and from USA? Only discovered on Monday Canada can't be posted to. I realise UK is still lengthy debating whether to send a parcel to UK or hold off for now

This is doubly horrifying.
But to be flippant, it’s a good job they are wearing masks.
