A form of Isolation will be required. Sometimes its home isolation, the rest "gov provided"

If home isolation is not approved, from gossip, not hard fact, I think you only get to holiday on Rotto if you are in a large Citizen repatriation group. The alternative for individuals (not in home isolation) or non-citizens is a city hotel room.

Given home would be slightly closer than PER city, it'd be interesting to see what would happen. Now I just need to decide (given that one is thinking more rationally today) whether it's the right thing to do or not.

That's my reading of it too, it's all a bit confusing really.

If you actually enter to G2G application process, there is a link to the Medical Emergency order (here) that includes the following. Perhaps read example 3.

Persons otherwise approved on any other grounds, including other compassionate grounds (r) any person or category of person who I as the State Emergency Coordinator, or a person authorised by me as the State Emergency Coordinator for the purpose, approves in writing and who complies with any terms or conditions to which that approval is subject (which may include a quarantine direction), whether on any other compassionate grounds or on any other ground whatsoever. Note: this provision for approving persons or categories of persons is intended to ensure that where a person or category of person is not provided/or, either generally or in a particular case, consideration can be given to whether entry should be permitted and, /{so, on what terms (such as airline or maritime crews or persons wishing to enter Western Australia for work-related reasons not captured above). Consideration will be given on a case-by-case basis and evidence may be required, such as a medical certificate. Example 1: a person may face exceptional hardship if they are not permitted to enter Western Australia because they live in Western Australia and operate a small business and would face financial ruin if they were prevented from entering the State to return home and operate the business. In such a case, approval might be given under this provision, subject to a quarantine direction and possibly other terms and conditions. Example 2: a person may be entering Western Australia to comply with a court order and it is impossible to comply with the court order and a quarantine direction. In such a case, approval might be given under this provision and again may be made subject to other terms and conditions. Example 3: a person who was in casual or other employment and living in Sydney needs to enter Western Australia because they have lost their job, have no means of support and will need to live with and be supported by their family until their circumstances change. In such a case, approval might be given under this provision, subject to a quarantine direction and possibly other terms and conditions

If you were granted access and a citizen and owned a home or a relative that owned a home you would be staying at, then I suspect you will be in home isolation.

Most of what I've read applies to people moving around AU, not returning from O/S

What I can't work out though is does that just apply for interstate visitors as opposed to international, it seems very vague on information around international arrivals.

Just guessing, its very specific in some regards - i.e. to stop grey nomads drifting in and out, but light on for international arrivals because they are handled by Border Force and they can't stop them anyway.

Are hairdressers open there? I think they are now, aren't they. That alone seems like it feels worth getting on that flight ;)

We are on week 10 of lockdown in San Diego and looking back this is how life has been.

- First stage was loss of income and pending loss of healthcare coverage. This was probably the most stressful time, so many F bombs dropped and lot of sleepless nights. Eventually we were able to resolve. This was probably our low point.
- Then I decided to turn into an interior designer, rearranging furniture etc. Of course that resulted in mindless online shopping for things that suddenly I had to have. I was gleefully waiting for my deliveries every day. However that soon grew old.
- After shopping I had to have a decluttering and cleaning phase. I probably have the tidiest sock draw I've ever had. Of course now I have all the clutter piled up to donate but nowhere to give it as everything is closed. Can not wait for my cleaner to return, I've reached the low point there even cleaning my garbage disposal unit. My house is probably the cleanest it has ever been.
- Now we can't forget the indoor gardening phase which still continues. This has given me great joy to look at the greenery and lovingly polish the leaves.
- The cooking phase which was so exhausting. Recipe research, menu planning, grocery shopping, meal preparation. As soon as the fork was put down on the final meal of the day my mind was onto what was I serving tomorrow. This was extremely tiring.
- Current phase is looking at my financials daily and getting excited about how little I am spending. The less I spend, the less I want to spend.

Overall I have to say I am just about over lockdown. I'm ready to get back to real life where I don't have so much time to focus on any of these things.

@Toula92122 how did you resolve the healthcare coverage as that is something we could never figure out?
In Western Australia we have started coming out of lockdown with schools at 90% plus attendance this week and childcare places back running. Traffic has been increasing daily. Hairdressers are open but not beauticians. One of my business partners is preparing to re-open two wine bars with food and 20 customers limit this weekend.
One tradesman I know went to the Miele seconds store to transport an oven to an apartment renovation and that store was being rushed by folks renovating their kitchens with the $10,000 of superannuation money that they were allowed to pull out of their retirement accounts tax free. They knew of others who had gambled the $10,000 away to zero so that was sad.
In WA I think we are now at 3 cases and with arrivals getting quarantined for 14 days it is looking like the emergency is controlled. We are a big State with a million square miles but with a modest population of about 2.5 million people.
We are starting to feel lucky but we are staying alert and keeping our distance from others.

Third I was about 5 metres from my apartment when coming back from the hospital when stopped by the Tassie police."Out for a long walk are you?"
No this is where I am staying.
"So working are you?"
Well I have finished for the day.
"Oh."And they walk off.

What the hell was that all about? There are, and never have been, any restriction on an individual walking about, whether 'working' or not (except when in mandatory isolation).

There are a couple of overzealous fellows up here.Although you are allowed out the ads on TV still say go out only if necessary and a couple of times I have heard on one of the daily briefings that you shouldn't go too far from home.Plus there is you can go to a National Park if it is under 30Km from home.
He - the one who did the talking - just wanted to demonstrate he had power I suppose.Didn't get any satisfaction out of me and I did whisper when I had got to the front door "w%nker.

I wish you could have gotten his number/station.

I would have loved to have driven up from the south and walked up and down past his station, and when interrogated said I was

1) Exercising (allowed)
2) Visiting a friend (allowed)
3) Buying essential supplies (allowed)
4) Oh, also about to contact the ABC morning radio show. Now, what was he wanting?

I've been trying hard not to criticise the Tas government and I think they have done a good job up to now. But now they seem frozen and scared as to what to do next. So, I can drive 200km to St Helens, stopping for petrol, coffee, lunch on the way up, and have a round of golf up there, then drive home, stopping for coffee again and dinner on the way home. But I'm not allowed to drive straight there, put a tinnie in the water, do some fishing, and drive straight home again. (Explanation: boats can only be put into the water in the municipality that they are registered in; all the other activities have no geographical restrictions)

The Premier is hiding behind the 'advice' he is receiving - not realising that its only "advice" - he's the one paid to make decisions.

RooFlyer the Premier really thinks he has saved Tasmania from disaster.Seems he has believed a really bad model.Apparently the modelling presented to the National cabinet was that 90% of Australians would be infected with Covid 19.Here is what he was reported to have said a week ago.

"Almost 90 per cent of Australians could have been infected with the coronavirus if "far-reaching action was not taken", Premier Peter Gutwein says.
Mr Gutwein said the figure was based on modelling considered by National Cabinet and would equate to around 477,000 Tasmanians contracting COVID-19 and 29,400 being hospitalised.
However, those numbers were derived from national population projections and could be higher or lower because they do not take into account Tasmania's unique circumstances, such as its water border, dispersed population and older demographics."

Now 5.2 million world wide + 0.075% of the world population. The rate of positive cases in the USA is 0.5% of it's population and the UK 0.4%.
So 477000 cases predicted for Tassie but only 226 in reality.

i did see they were looking at exemptions for Australians who arrive on the direct flight from Perth. Plus they seem to be reviewing the youth visa applications for Aussies and extending the time to first arrive in the UK.

A late 60 yo friend who was previously in good health in August 2018 was unwell over a few weeks and presented with viral respiratory symptoms ended up on a ventilator for 2 months. It took ages before he could even feed himself and was in hospital and rehab for about 5 months and it took a while but he was back up to full health in almost 3-4 months after.

Edit - a friend in his late 60's - poorly worded on my behalf. He's still alive and kicking and I just saw him an hour ago

A late 60 yo friend ...
I had a bad feeling as I began reading about this, but then it turned out well, and that your friend was actually late 60s, and now recovered, rather than a late 60yo friend.

Some good news there, but a long road back. ☺
