Great match well done to the Western Bulldogs.

The last team to beat the Western Bulldogs was Fremantle Dockers.

serfty - Goodonya and CE actually texted me in the last 12 hours. No formal AFF event is organised for tonight. As a result I am having dinner with my family (sister and our parents).

And what a game. I am not a doggies supporter, but what a great story for them and their fans.

And I officially won the AFF tipping comp. Pity there was no actual prize....

Yes a good game. Now a question for those who have been before. We are in Perth and the 2017 GF is on our bucket list. Any tips or suggestions about the best way to do it ? Buy a full package with flights, accommodation, tickets or do the flights and accommodation ourselves and get the ticket package ?

First wait till the fixtures for next year come out. Perhaps source tickets 330 days out on points with QF or VA?

Serty or cove might know better, but having membership with Freo or the AFL might improve the chances of tickets.

Accommodation again? Any points with the big chains? Any chance of mattress runs or buying hotel points or booking early?

What a fabulous result - just FABULOUS for long suffering Footscray fans - they have waited so long - fabulous also for the competition as it gives followers of other less than successful clubs a glimmer of hope.

Our next task task is to get the Demons over the line again - they have not seen a premiership since 64 - then we work on the Sainters as they have been starved of silverware since 66 - sorry cove but your mob the Dockers have to wait a couple years yet.

Yes silverware cupboard is bare over at the Dockers and I think they will rejig their list substantially. One more season at Domain Stadium and we will be at the new stadium. We will probably keep the 6 Dockers seats and 10 West Coast Eagles seats for another season.
We park at Curtin Uni in Bentley and get the bus to Domain and that really works great. Certainly takes the hassle out of getting there in a car.

Cheaper rates on stadium?
Just rubbing it in SA face..... Look we got power to light up the sky ;)

For Subi I parked at a mates in Wembley and walked. But then he moved. Not that I've had time for footy this year. For Burswood I imagine I'll park at work and use the planned footbridge. Could be an enjoyable trek.

Go to page 7 of today's The Age, and tell me that isn't the biggest advertising fail of 2016...
