Best wishes. Sometimes a completely unrelated health issue finds another one lurking that is symptomless.Funny how things turn out sometimes.
As some of you on this thread would know, I have had breathing / lung problems since early September when I was in Vietnam.
I see a respiratory specialist this week about that ongoing issue.
However, on my return from Vietnam when I went to see my GP about my breathing, he decided to do some blood tests as it had been a while since anything other than PSA and cholesterol had been checked.
My blood results among other things showed a rather high ferritin level so my GP wanted the test done again. Same result about a week later so I was sent off for an ultrasound of the liver and the results came in today. With ferritin levels still rather high, I'm off for a third blood test tomorrow and a decision will be made if I need to be referred to a specialist.
In the mean time however, the ultrasound shows that I have gall stones! So off to another specialist in a couple of weeks.
To think I only had breathing problems
Good luck - not a lot of value in getting older, I have found. Hope all can be resolved.Funny how things turn out sometimes.

I've had 3 of those excised. Then you don't have to monitor itHad a biopsy on my leg, came back as “intraepidermal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) which is a common superficial form of keratinocyte cancer.”
Known as Bowen’s disease.
No other treatment required for now, just to monitor.
Had to chuckle over this: “The condition typically affects elderly women.”

Commiserations. Getting old is just giving and giving. I had a melanoma chopped off my wrist last week. Biopsy says type 1A on 0.8 mm so nothing to be overly concerned about but off to plastic surgeon tomorrow for more cut and paste I suggest. Large mole has been living under my watch for 40+ years. One would think the radium alpha or beta emissions from the watch hands (watch 53 years old) would have cured it! Might go and get a PET scan just to be sure but what else will they get enthused about.Had a biopsy on my leg, came back as “intraepidermal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) which is a common superficial form of keratinocyte cancer.”

Is it not treated with one of the creams such as Aldara these days as with BCCs?We discussed this as well, but I don’t want to do take that option at the moment.
I had a small BCC scraped off the back of my neck yesterday. A quick jab of local and then a quick scrape, followed with a band aid and home. Took all of 5 minutesIs it not treated with one of the creams these days as with BCCs?
Gawd. I first read that as euthanised!but what else will they get enthused about.
Happy that auto correct didn't intervene! May as well apply now. Saves timeGawd. I read first read that as euthanised!

... in particular sesamoiditis? After an operation to remove arthritis-induced bony growths on R great toe joint resulted in different pain in different spot, after much prodding by podiatrist, now suspect sesamoiditis. Just monitoring it ATM (and putting up with regular ache and occasional pain) but wondering on longer term treatment. Podiatrist sold me 'rocker' shoes which help but not eliminate issue (more deigned for arthritic joint. Have anti-inflammatories (200mg celecoxib) which help but don't want to take them any more than necessary and only occasionally.
Seeing GP later in the week.
