Does Dog know it’s about to be demoted?

Trick we used was bringing home the baby clothes and rubbing them on the walls above the head line of the dogs (but still within sniffing distance) so that dogs automatically thinks the baby is part of the pack and bigger than it actually is...

The hospital also has a special care nursery so we should be fine.

Daisy loves kids, they drop food :D

Does Dog know it’s about to be demoted?

I would be more worried about the cat being jealous ! We knew a couple who had a big fluffy indoor cat and when they eventually had a baby and brought it home, not long after that they found the cat sitting on the babys face ! after the second time the cat had to go.

Cats just like to go for warmth. It isn’t an act to cause harm.

My cousin was 1270gm - 8 weeks prem - the hospital was great as they had a support group for the little ones and provided teeny weeny clothes. Now he's a great hulk. I'm getting rid of all my dolls and doll's clothes @blackcat20 if you want me to send over the clothes ;)

No it’s TomCat and BlackCat...

And it’s not “gender” it’s “sex”. That G word was slipped in because of PC
I know that. I coined it months ago, probably years by now and it caught on! I prefer gender and think I’ve always used that term.

Public transport can be really shocking at times.

Wife went to get daughter from day care at 4:30pm and not back for over 2 hours. Buses were delayed by more than 45 minutes or more and a bus not in service stopped and picked her up.

Call Translink and they are only aware of general updates.

How is daughter enjoying day care?

Daughter loves day care.

Her sleeping habits haven't adjusted yet. Went to sleep at 3:15am, woke her at 8:30am screaming and whining and not comfortable at day care, slept for 2 hours at day care, slept another 2 hours while we went out to dinner and now wide awake probably until 3:00am-4:00am.

Very difficult to get her into a pattern.

The trick is to try and keep her awake in the late afternoon - had a friend with a large family and the older ones were responsible for keeping the toddler awake till after dinner.
An early dinner then in to bed might work or then again she might be a natural night owl. :p

My mother when baby sitting always told me what a wonderful 2 hour sleep my son had from 3.30pm until 5.30pm. She never understood why I never share her joy.

Difficult to try keep her awake if she wants to sleep. She went to bed after 4:00am and she's still asleep now. We'll try to keep her awake until 11:00pm tonight and then she can sleep but in a few days she's back to her usual times.

Bub has been struggling to put on weight in his first three weeks, and today we've found the reason.
A posterior tongue tie. Appointment with specialists tomorrow. All up about $750 to fix, IF we opt to fix it.

I guess I know what I’d do if it is causing weight issues. Maybe they outgrow it?

A bit of membrane under the tongue that impacts on the baby latching correctly.

Yep. There are workarounds. We're already expressing and we can also supplement with formula. But it's hard to pump, and parent an infant and toddler at the same time. When I return to work it will be impossible.

We're told there's no long term impact if we don't correct it, but it will definitely make life easier for the wife.
