Yep. There are workarounds. We're already expressing and we can also supplement with formula. But it's hard to pump, and parent an infant and toddler at the same time. When I return to work it will be impossible.

We're told there's no long term impact if we don't correct it, but it will definitely make life easier for the wife.
Our Miss has a very slight one but no impact on her feeding so we’re leaving it alone.
Expressing can be exhausting. Hopefully you find a solution that suits.

Would it make it easier to totally formula feed the little one? Nutrition is the same and it might just take the pressure off everyone. My first was a bottle fed bub as he was incredibly fussy but his younger sister was breast fed - just chalk and cheese and I don't regret either decision. What works for some babies may not for others.
It looks like (from the link you posted) that it is not necessary an easy fix.

Number 1 had a mix of cough and bottle, and it was a bit of a pain in the rear end. Boiling water at all hours and constantly cleaning bottles. It doesn't sound like much but it adds up on top of other stuff.

Even having a shower or getting dressed gets too hard sometimes but I think this is drifting into the parenting thread or medical issues.

Friend's daughter with twins has some kind of bottle steriliser that seems to only take 20 mins and you just store them in there, taking them out when needed, It is a far cry from the boiling of bottles I did with No1. Seems to work really well.

My FIL has a tongue tie, and has lived for almost 80 years without too many problems.

But he can't really stick out his tongue. AFAIK, that's been the only impact on him with his tongue tie (though I believe they can vary in how much they might restrict tongue movement).

I'm almost certain my daughter has tongue tie. Can't remember how severe and we wouldn't dream of having an operation as there has not been any impact on her growth.

Daughter has always been on formula from birth and the occassional breast feed until 6 months old as wife did not quite recover from the caesarean issues and didn't have enough breast milk.

Daughter is now 2.5 years old and still on formula. Daughter doesn't eat much either and doctors have said as long as she's growing let her decide what she wants to do.

Kids never cease to amaze.

A couple of evenings back we were sitting in living room having a chat and daughter was playing on the mattress and we weren't taking too much notice.

We were hearing a beeping sound and look around and daughter is holding her toy remote control backwards pressing a button and a red light coming on as she was scanning her toys and putting them off to one side.

How she managed to put 2 and 2 together and use the remote control as a scanner has us both stumped. If kids are this bright when they are young then something must be lost as an adult as many adults lose all imagination and are unable to solve very simple problems.

We have one, makes things much easier. Good for sterilising the pump and dummy as well.

A recent family conversation initiated by my nephew (sister's oldest son and parent of my mother's only great-grandchild).

Grandma, what would be better than one great-grandchild?

Quite excitedly, "Oh, oh another one?"

"Well what would be better than another one?"

Very excitedly. "Two? You're having twins?"

"Yes and they're girls."

First females born into either family for a very long time. Lots of excitement and the real fun starts in September when they're due.

Daughter is going through the selfie craze.

She's worked out how to use the camera and switch on selfie mode and taking photos of herself on mums phone, my phone and the tablet. She hasn't quite worked out how to get her image in the middle of the photo but full marks for trying.

They learn quick. But they also pick up bad habits like throwing the phone at my head last night from close range and hitting me just above the eye.

I wanted to buy the Miss a new sleeping baby from Baby Bunting. They have the one I want online but when I select click and collect, it’s says not available for delivery and won’t let me order 🙄
Ms FM finally bought her car seat (rear facing 0 to 4) and Fox Bugaboo from Baby Bunting on Boxing Day. She said the store was crazy there were so many people in it and they have had to order one accessory they didn’t have in store, but she got really good prices so she was happy. Thanks for the advice. :)

do you have any feelings on reusable nappies cloth vs bamboo? Ms FM has delegated research to me :)

Awesome. Yeah it bonkers last year when we did our shopping.

No advice sorry, I’ve gone the lazy, disposable nappy route. I have enough to do without soaking and washing nappies.

We've used reusable nappies to decent effect with both kids. Also use liners in then to help with cleaning.

She plans to use disposable initially but wants to go reusable after that. Oh well back to google searches :)

My baby nephew is now 41 but i remember nappies, pilchers and liners. Do they still call the plastic things pilchers?

Any views on cotton reusable vs bamboo reusable? I am leaning towards cotton as bamboo seems very varied as to chemicals used in production, although they seem to have some other benefits.

It’s all changed :) I used cloth for Dr Fm but then slowly drifted towards disposables with the other two. These days it’s all modern nappies that are prefolded and inserts and not a pin in sight :)
