Melbourne lounge this evening. ‘Hot’ option is two pieces of cold chicken with salad. Stingy and disappointing.

Looks like remaining pieces before a new batch... Could you go back for seconds?
Yeah, absolutely could go back for seconds - it’s not busy, but firsts was so disappointing, why bother. Maybe 4-5 pieces of that chicken hot with the same salad would have made a decent meal.

Lounge refresh is nice but still largely the same lounge I remember pre covid

In the sydney lounge having some nice pumpkin soup and beef noodle salad for lunch today.

Unfortunately the selection of beers is absolutely woeful. Got a cider instead, there's only one cider to choose from but at least it's something with a hint of crispness to it.

I did notice too on a recent trip to SYD & MEL VA lounges the beers were bottom shelf.
To get beers wrong, how I ask??

Don't all the mainstream Australian beers taste the same?

I used to have a Corona or a Calton dry, or even a tap beer would be a welcome sight and preferable to the current line up!

Something refreshing, full strength, full carb and not in a can. Not a fan of ales, of which there were a couple. Maybe I'm a tad fussy lol

Melb on Thursday...only one red wine and 3 whites..lots of beer..friendly staff. Not too busy. Quite pleasant really

ADL lounge has 5 types of Pirate Life which is not a bad local beer but cans unfortunately.
Asahi and Great Northern the two bottled beers.
Hot food option today was a Sweet Potato and Kaffir Lime soup whilst Cold options were
- Turkey breast, lettuce, cheese and cranberry sauce sandwich
- Tuna wrap with avocado and salad
- Thai Beef Salad with coriander dressing
- Tabouli with felafel and hommus
The Thai Beef salad tasted very fresh and had some excellent flavours, very good dish IMO

Wish Sydney had Asahi, that would be a no brainer! Oh we have great northern too, but only in the cans lol.

The bartender mentioned that the tap beers would be back in play sometime in January, but who knows how reliable that is.

Food lineup is identical to what Sydney had the other day, except a different soup. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised on that front :)

Sounds like the food and drink options in Adelaide continue to be excellent, especially compared to the likes of Melbourne. Always enjoy my visits to Adelaide.
