Gift Cards at Supermarkets

Umm yeah I checked 6 different Coles in Sydney all sold out. Are they keeping them behind the desk?

I've not seen them behind the desk at any store I have visited. They have always been placed with all other gift cards and accessible to everyone.

But in any case I can't see how visiting 6 stores in one state (probably within a small geographical radius) could lead to the erroneous but bold claim that they were sold out nationwide as you stated in message number #2274.

A members reputation can be very easily and irreparably damaged by proving false or misleading information.

There are NO MORE $100 cards. all Sold out national wide.

I would have thought the $88 card is more attractive overall. You use wish gift cards and can get 5% of virtually any transaction. Whereas the $100 Coles one is get the fee back via fb points which doesn't seem as good for me

Yet these cards sell out totally very quickly. And only one per account too!

Seems odd

Towards the end of the promo its worthwhile popping into Coles of regional towns if you are passing through

So after collecting a lot of $88 cards last week, my wife has found something she really wants for her Bday (only available online:rolleyes:). I have been reading up on options to turn this cash back into CC and from what I can see with other posts the best option would be a Crdit card from a PO. The purchase price is about $180 and I don't think I can split the payment across say 2 CC's form Coles. If I have understood properly it will cost me about $6 to buy a card and put $200 on it, this will still leave me in front as at the moment I am 10% ahead on the $88 cards, and of cause there will be the important 'happy wife' bonus points:D.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Cheers

According to the flybuys rep on the flybuys targeted thread there is a delay on the bonus points for the Visa1/2000 flybuys points. The points for cards purchased on February 1 and 2 should be credited to accounts by Monday 6 February. Flybuys apologised for the errors which lead to this problem.

I've been an amex member for a grand total for 3 weeks now. And I've applied for a second amex. Spent $10k on gift vouchers. Made use of heaps of promos

Found out that I can buy JB hifi gift cards at 5% discount through my local woolworths.

And although I missed out on the Coles cards.

Absolutely loving it

Hope more opportunities to stock up on something come along!

That is probably due to the fact that if there was no attendant there that self-service would be pretty much shop and no pay for many!!!

No, I meant it would be nice if they didn't need to manually authorise the card purchases at the self-service, even a $20 Bunnings card needs to be manually authorised by a staff member. They definitely need staff there otherwise people will rob them blind given the opportunity.

The problem I was having with a Red GC a few days ago seems to have resolved. Guessing it was a delayed activation issue. Sorry if I've invoked any unnecessary anxiety

patiently waiting for the flight center gc promo .... keep my eye on clubmed

Do you think this would be better than the discount associated with the recent $88 EFTPOS cards which you could use directly at Flight Center?

I can imagine one going to Flight Centre. Booking a 10k package and bringing out a suitcase full of $88 cards!!
