I think she said she got like 30 cents a transaction or something . Or maybe 60cents .
not in wa. She's got the right attitude - no one tells her what to do, it's her store and she accepts all type of payments .
if a particular company tells her not to accept their card it's their fault for letting it work at her terminal

ok my operation has been shut down, managed to get a decent amount of points though....lol . Word came from the top to stop...

The CEO doesn't like others getting money but earning 5.6mill is ok whilst reducing service and increasing prices.

It seems no-one appreciates cryptic clues anymore. I found them an entertaining feature of one of the old giftcard threads.

Anyway there is a 'permanent' offer- buy discounted WISH which brings card activation fee at WW down to a (in my view YMMV) viable, though not completely free, amount

You can only buy Bunnings at Coles-but they are the only GC I know that gives cash change (for amounts under $10 only sadly)

its such a pity the card is max $100!!!

$5.95 activation fee, 5% discount =$100.95 for $100 of credit, but you can use plat edge and get 3pts per $ as opposed to 2 pts per $, so for me 1 pt extra for 1%(0.95%)

thats the way i see it:)

so they don't work at the post office anymore or they still work but she has been told to cease accepting them?

It's a prepaid Visa sold at HN. Load limit appears to be $300. Last time I bought some just before expiry of the original $100 rebate Amex offer - there were physical cards in store and not the VPay brand. More versatile as Pay are online only.

Ok thanks, so buy the HN V card on line (pity I missed the AMEX offer)?

Some BPs sell vpay which may be useful. Unfortunately no velocity points on spend

Ps: get me outta here:you inbox is full..you may wish to empty

One JB near me only accepts 5 at a time. This can be circumvented slightly by paying online. Even then, max 5 GC to a value of $500 each.
I used 36 x JB HiFi card for a single in-store transaction yesterday. The staff member asked to see my ID (just looked at it, did not copy or write down any details), and asked where I got the cards. I said I bought them that morning from Woolworths and she just shook her head and said "wow". And she was happy to process the payment swiping 36 cards. The receipt was 2.3m long!

The things we do to save $150 and earn bonus points in multiple programs.

I used 11 gift cards today at Myer to buy a new Mac. The lady behind the counter was very impressed by my strategy to save on the usually fixed price computers.

Through purchasing Myer gift cards at Woolies using 5% off Wish cards I saved $105 and earned 21000 QFF and 6100 AMEX Ascent points by using my Plat Edge. I then got the shop assistant to dig out my Myer One membership number (unused for 7 years) to qualify for another $40 in Myer vouchers to be sent out in a few months time.

After all that, placing a very conservative value on the points I reckon I saved a minimum of $350 on the price of the computer. Of course I plan to extract much more value than that. Very happy and very thankful for all of the clever people on AFF for their wisdom in these threads.

No points on card spend doesn't sound attractive so not seeing value there (?) Thanks andye. Inbox cleaned up now.

How did you get 21k qff

Well done BTW regardless

went to post office and spent an hour using my $88 gift cards x 50

thankfully there were 2 self service machines, well worth the savings

i made a payment to my macquarie credit card which had a $2 OTC fee

Do you split the amount you are paying on the same bill to the value of multiple gift cards and get charged just one OTC fee?
