RE Amex at Post Office

You can pay your Card Account in person with cash or a cheque at Australia Visit to set up Post Offices.
Cash payments are limited to no greater than your current account statement.
You must present your card and current account statement when paying your Card Account.
A $3 processing fee will apply to payments made in person.

the best way would be to go in with a bill and try with self service and see shat happens

it also says fee will to payments, I guess that could be interpreted as $3 per transaction , so whether using mutliple cards would mean multiple charges, I have no idea,

it seems no one has tried that yet, I will give it a shot next month

It is also worth noting that loud discussion of circular-spending reduces the time-window of opportunity considerably

not too sure what that means ....

Discussing it online means companies see we're using loopholes and subsequently close them. Or, more public sites like ozbargain picks them up, and then every man and his dog jump on the offer and a spike in unusual activity means it gets picked up by analytics and the loophole is closed that way.

HN's 2016 Vpay shutdown is a prime example of this. Everyone started reloading their coles MCs with vpay cards and indue shut it down. Further info earlier in this thread if you're interested.

Edit: andye, I'll be careful not to be too loud.

ok now I understnad,
and I missed the harvey norman deal, but I ll be on the ball with next one, I m not a big coles fan because I cant get 5% off, however if there are any other benefits id definitely get on it, like the $100 giftcard recently, unforruantely Imissed out

my first gift card deal was the $88 one, and since that im hooked, i now search these forums daily in case a good deal comes around,

I missed out on a deal because I Was overseas, and I didnt buy enough of another deal as I wasnt sure of a few things,

damn these deals are addicitive, I need a constant fix!

finally finished using the $88 giftcard (total of $4488) bought from Woolies..used mainly to pay for furnitures and private insurance, initially thought of using it to pay bills, but got charged $2 per $88, so changed my strategy to pay the big item stuff, and they were happy to process it and no questions asked :-)

All my bills were council rates. Etc

At no time did a surcharge come up on the screen.

I called up one council and asked if my payments had come through in full and they said yes so I'm assuming there is no feee.

when i paid my macquarie credit card the $2 OTC fee was billed on my card so the amount I paid via eftpos card went through in full and there wasn't anything on the screen to advise of the charge.

possible the bills you paid they don't charge any fee. fingers crossed for you

certainly hope so :)

I think they might be a lot more likely to charge a fee for credit card payments,

can someone please confirm, other than the sale times su as the recent $88 promotion,

what is the cheapest way financially to to purchase visa/debit/gfit cards on a ongoing basis

Is it buying those visa1 and perfect gift cards using 5% off wish gift cards, but paying the $5.95 fee which essentailly means by buying the max $100 card which means you pay $0.95 fir this privelege,

I have a lot of bills everymonth that only accept visa only , but do accept paypal, but if I use my plat edge , i will get an extra 1 pt per dollar,

In my experience Woolies 5% off egift cards can't be used to buy prepaid Visa cards. They can be used for eftpos cards at this stage.

Are you referring to those visa1 cards?
I recently purchased the$88 gift cards and I could use the wish gift cards.

I've tried buying prepaid Visa GC - can load them with up to $500 - can buy the card at self checkout but must be loaded at a manned checkout and they strictly enforce EFTPOS only load rule. I haven't tried to buy the Only1 cards with WISH card. Interested in hearing if anyone else has succeeded given unlike the Visa GCs where you nominate how much to load them with, they can only be loaded with $100.

Ahh I see
These still have the $5.95 fee? If you can nominate the amount. A $5.95 fee would be perfect. Essentially zero cost or more depending on the amount.

Even $500 would be perfect.!!!!

Would also cut down on the number of times you'd need to split a payment into $100 lots :)

Thanks for the intel on the "only 1" Visa GCs unfunkable.
