Gift Cards at Supermarkets

Hadn’t bought Visa1 for a while. Just tried my local Woolies. The software update has been rolled out. Back to 0.75ppd on Visa spend. Was great while it lasted. 5% off supermarket shop is my consolation prize.

Finally finished off my V1 stash from the father's Day sale. Every utility paid in advance

Kimda glad can't do it anymore. Was never an efficient use of time IMO. Won't feel bad not exploiting it :p

I’ve recently lost ability to pay for gift cards in local Woolies with e-Wish cards purchased at 5% off.

Have they finally closed the loop hole with their IT system country wide?

Yep, been a few months now for some stores, my store was closed 2 months ago.

I bought Virgin Australia gift cards last month at Calwell and Kambah in Canberra using a wish e-gift card bought via cashrewards.

Has anyone used the latest Woolworths promotion for Visa Only 1 gift cards?

The stand says receive 1,000 bonus points to be used for future shopping and total cost $106.95 for the $100 card but the purchase fee should only be $5.95? There also doesn't appear to be a limit?

I did heavily at the weekend. Interestingly the sign above the stand said 106.95 but the pictures of the cards showed 105.95.
The 'Christmas bonus' promo was running until yesterday that meant you got 10x WR points at purchase too. i.e each card cost ~$96 instead of the $100.95 net they are from today
Liquidation of thr cards is a bit fiddly as I'm pretty sure the Canberra portal remains blocked

It does.

If you are opted into Qantas points and value them at more than 1.15c it may make even more sense

@andye have you received the 1k points for the card as well as the 10x on total spend. If so was it 5.95 fee or 6.95 fee cards? I bought 50 5.95 cards and received 1060 ppc. There has been a fair amount of discussion in the we gift card thread.

Thanks. I've been overseas and paid the council rates on Friday which cost me a lot more than the $0.95 fee per card would have cost. Then there's also prepaying Medibank private.

Not to worry. Next time.

Not yet but I dont anticipate there being an issue. I took a photo of the banner just in case.
I could only find $5.95 ones anyway

so you are confident that even though the catalogue says $6.95 cards for the 1000 pts bonus, and you buy the $5.95 card, you are going to get the bonus?

if I had to bet my life, id say the 1000 pt bonus wont come
thats what im scared of ! :(

Seriously-here is the picture of the promo banner showing the 105.95 card. I'll have a good case. If they are truly intransigent, its not the end of the world, just an entry in the losses column

Edir:its clearer in the original pic

damn, I missed the deal regardles :(

keep us posted, will be interesting

im 0 wins 1 losses against a points claim I made recently

Everyone who has bought a $5.95 card has received 1060 points instantly as per the catalogue offer.

No evidence yet that anyone has received the 3x/5x/10x Christmas Bonus for Only1 purchases on top of the catalogue offer. I suppose there is still hope since the T&Cs says it could take 7 days.

I can see why people would confuse the catalogue offer with the Christmas Bonus because the catalogue offer is awarding 1060 instead of 1000 points.

If anyone buys a $5.95 card today they will still get 1060 points, same as yesterday.
