I think coles myer group might be immediate activation, but the DJs does need a while. You can ring up DJs to find out if it has activated, or try a online purchase, withdrawing before the payment goes through.
There is no simple online balance checker :(

Does anyone know if buying Bunnings gift cards at Coles earns flybuys points?

Yes, I did this exactly last week. I bought Coles gift cards at 5% off via employee discount from work, then I went to Coles to convert the Coles gift card to $70 of Bunnings gift cards, and still earned FlyBuys points.

Coles

Date processed 28/12/14 Spend $70.00

If you buy a Gift Card for a business outside of the Coles (or WOW ) group it will earn points exactly the same as does any purchase.

ie Hoyts, Village, Bunnings, JB HiFi etc

I have done this since with both WOW and Coles without a problem. Back when they had 20/32 cent fuel offers (ie Spend $100 and get a 32 cent per litre fuel discount) I would often buy a gift card mainly just to get the larger fuel discount

It does not qualify for bonus offers though

Thanks all. I knew it worked at Woolworths, just wasn't sure for Coles. That's good - it's an additional "cashback" for spend at Bunnings.

I was in Bunnings at the weekend and bought a citronella candle. Handed over a $50 gift card. Lady at checkout looked bemused when I handed one of the $10 change giftcards to son in queue behind me to buy a roll of tape. Trifling points gain but it feels like you are beating the system.

Not sure if it's common knowledge but have noticed that if you can buy Coles/Myer cards with anotherColes/Myer card if you part pay with credit card at a self-service checkout. Useful for consolidating cards (and not wasting the points that are usually rounded down to the nearest dollar)

Is the 7.5% discount WISH cards still available for anyone with Entertainment card? I can only see 5%.

Any tips for increasing the value of these and getting max points?

I didn't think you could buy gift cards through self service.

No, it was a time limited offer that expired in December last year.

No, it finished December 31st. Groupon had 7.5% off recently, but you couldn't use AMEX, only Visa and Mastercard.

Is there any way to get wish cards @ 5% off from the supermarkets? (So we can still get 3 points/$)
thx in advance.

.No problem buying in all the Coles and Woolies in my bit of NSW. They need an approval from the self-service assistant. I've never had a problem in Coles paying with a giftcard. Doesn't always work when part paying in woolworths.

Hmmm..... I'm fairly certain my local Coles (or was it Woolies?) has signs next to the self service registers stating that gift cards cannot be purchased through them. I'll have to pay more attention at the different Coles/Woolies stores I regularly visit to see whether it's the same at all of them.

AMEX no longer an option for buyng wishcards through RACV link. Only visa/mastercard. Not worth the hassle anymore without getting 3point/$ IMO.

There goes that! Do the RACV shops accept AMEX as a method of payment?

No they don't.

Does ordering through the everydaygiftcards website (using entertainment book link) earn 3 point per dollar on AMEX for supermarket spend? I know this has probably been discussed before but just confirming if someone has done this recently and been awarded 3 points per dollar...
