Does Anyone know if Accor giftcards are activated imediatley (DJs cards seem to take a few days for me).

Secondly, Can I purchase Accor girftcards from Woolies with an egiftcard, effectively taking 7.5% off the hotel rate?

Thanks

Did you get all those points becuse you used a particular card ... If so which card was it plse? Cheers

I bought a $100 BigW egift card ($92.50) yesterday through the 7.5% discount Entertainment Book link and received 276 points for the transaction.

No idea about accor cards, but I too discovered on the weekend that DJ's cards don't immediately activate.

Does anyone else have any input about other gift cards?
IME experience DJs takes a few days, and myer is instant.

Are there any similar offers for GCs that work at Coles Group which is where I do most of my shopping???

Ent book no longer offer CG&M cards, neither do automotive associations (RACV/RACQ/NRMA/etc)
I do have access to them via AGL rewards though, and apparently so do ambassador card members.

And what sort of offers does AGL offer, 5% off or those sorts of things???

I don't suppose buying them with an Amex card would get the 3 points/$ although maybe buying a a visa or something in store at Coles (if they sell them) would earn the 3 points/$ and then that could be used to buy the CG&M GCs???

Re: the accor card, the small print on the back said that it couldn't be used for accor advantage rates, so I never bothered...

Good to know that about Myer cards, instantly activated

What makes it an Accor advantage rate? I normally search without logging in first and then log in when booking. But currently looking at a hotel where the normal website rate is the same as when logged in; does that mean it's not an advantage rate. Or does it become an advantage rate as soon as I add my Accor number?

It will say advantage rate iirc, which of course is the sub card that gives 10% off! I wonder if the ibis business card rate is OK?

yep 5% off, but the portal only takes visa/MC. Also there's a postage fee ($2-$5) which means value is lost on smaller purchases.
Personally though I've never bothered, as I routinely buy my CG&M cards for approximately 20% off via various amex statement credit offers (myer, liquorland, target)

It's handy when I am making spontaneous purchases at myer and there's a woolies/big w nearby. Bit disappointed that DJ's doesn't work the same way.

how does one actually know exactly how long it takes to have a myer or DJ activated? The only want to find out is to actually to try and use it right? there is no other way to check it?
