Plus these may also add some value (if you're patient enough). Why? Well if you buy a $50 gift card you get (according to the T&Cs) $10 off your next shop. So you buy another gift card for $60 value and pay $50 and get a $10 off your next shop which is your next $60 gift card purchase. It may work at $50 purchase from the second one but why risk it.

Time for the spread sheeting to begin!
Posted this elsewhere but just in case...

The extra 2.5% isn't worth the hassle (not to mention missing out on Plat Edge bonus points) to me based on the Groupon offer shennanigans last year

If you live in NSW or ACT, you can already buy Woolworths Wish card (valid in all Woolworths group stores) at 5% off and 3 x Edge point from NRMA.

So totally agree that 2.5% is not worth it.

It's not a 2.5% discount, it is a 7.5% discount.

2: You can only use this card at Big W, whereas the 5% off card is for all Woolworths group

The T&Cs may state that, but it is a WOW e-Gift card and is valid in all WOW stores. Certainly, the last Big W e-Gift card offer on GroupOn worked this way and, IME, this is the case for all WOW group gift cards, electronic or plastic. The branding on the card does not matter.

My main reason was that Groupon made a complete mess of sending out the cards last year. Multiple phone calls eventually sorted it out. Maybe they've learnt-I'm not risking it

Same here. I do not think the risk of group buying service, and the risk of Woolworths not enforcing their own terms, is worth 2.5% off. Buy $100 save $2.5, but you are stuck with $100 you cannot use if Woolworths enforce their own terms and conditions. What am I to do with $100 Big W card? Cannot spend it!

And you lose 3 x points on Edge card if you buy from GroupOn. That 3x points nearly offset the 2.5$ discount completely.

So the difference really is 1% off.

I would rather do an extra Opal trip and save $2.5, then going through all these troubles to save $1.

The Entertainment Book has the exact same offer now. I just received an email from them.

Makes the Groupon offer even more of a gamble

The Groupon offer has finished. It was one day only.

The Ent Book is offer is "time-limited" however I haven't looked to see what the deadline is.

"7.5% OFF offer ends 19 December 2015."

Given you get Entertainment book immediately it will be apparently pretty quickly if these really can be used at WW. The T&Cs don't mean much IMO, they have been wrong every other time. Of course this doesn't mean that this time they may be correct but the odds aren't good.

A contradiction??

Not a contradiction to me, the site says that gift cards are valid at any of the WW group and that matches my experience, can't see the restrictive terms of the Groupon offer anywhere!

One line says "redeemable online", the next says "not redeemable at Big W online". Why would a Big W e-Gift card not be redeemable at Big W online ?
