Yes, we only purchased two $100 Coles Mastercard giftcards, I didn't want to risk it. Bought them on 16/05 and we've been credited 1000 points per card. Now I just have to wait for AMEX to give me my local champion bonus on all of my Coles transactions.

My Coles MC giftcard points haven't posted yet. The coles rep said on the AFF flybuys thread that they would be posting in batches on Friday and Monday

finger crossed. Mine haven't posted yet. I did get a nice surprise post from recent Coles MC transaction. Looks like that one will be getting a lot more love from me.

Now they are trying to entice us to convert one (or more) of them into re-loadable Coles MCs.

They currently have an offer where there is NO 3% foreign currency charge. I think it is waived through to Dec 31.

By my reckoning 200k FB points = 80,000 EY (conversion 10k goes to 4k). You can get some decent international upgrades or flights with those. A bit more work and you've got J one-way to Europe.

I am new to Etihad program. I did dummy search: Syd - AUH one way business class 96806 miles ( even way more for europe ). 80k EY points will be useless I guess.

80,000 points means you are 82.5% of your way to Abu Dhabi...

Well you've done such a good job getting your 200,000 FlyBuys - just a little more effort and you've got J to Abu Dhabi, and same effort again (or just a touch less) gets you
to Europe in J. On a cost per flying time - the J to Abu Dhabi is best value IMHO.

96,806 EY points /14 = 6,915 points burn an hour for J
Additional approx 55,000 for 6 hours to Europe in J = 9,167 per hour - more expensive but may be hard to switch mid-way.

It really comes down to what appeals most to you? Do you want instant result or enjoy the anticipation of the big redemption a bit later on...
