Guys

Just log into flybuys account. My balance now is 344,457 holy cough!!! Last week when bonus points posted it was around 185,000 something. And today the balance double! I checked transactions and all bonus points 1000 per giftcard has been awarded twice.
Anyone experience the same? I hope the error stays

Dammit I missed out! Transfer it out to Etihad Sky Miles so they can't take it away from you.

With that much points you can fly First class with Etihad which is much better than voucher redemption.

Fair enough. Congrats on hauling that much points. Guess I have to pay a bit more attention to some of these offers. You'll probably got the best of both world if you had your platinum edge

The T&Cs for the card have to be the shortest (and least informative) I've ever come across. Not surprising I suppose since Macquarie is the ultimate issuer.

Groupon provide some more info which helps somewhat.

Could be very helpful for cards with 3x spend, seems helpful for others as well.

Possibly excellent way to receive full weight for Govt/utilities.

I wonder if a Big W e-gc could be used to load it?

I believe the 'load' function, which can't be done at a self-check out, is a "savings withdrawl" eftpos request. I have tried unsuccessfully to do this in the past at Big W.

If the load can be done using certain high points per dollar spent card (to gain the points), and then use the prepaid card to pay certain Canberra friend (with 0.42% fee), then it might be worth the trouble

I am very happy (in fact I would love) to be proven wrong here but I am under the impression it comes across as a cash withdrawl, so a 'credit' transaction would be either denied or treated as a cash advance.

Yeah it has to be straight cash not even a purchase like at some other places for say a straight EFTPOS gift card

OK, who lives close to a Big W and will 'donate' the $5.50 fee to the cause?

That seems like the only way this is going to be resolved (even temporarily).

With the Coles FB offer - they could be loaded at self-serve (with staff help) and both AMEX and egc used to pay.

Occasionally (1 out of 14 transactions) they said no.

Once the person said I don't think it will work - so I politely encouraged her to 'try and see'.

One asked why? He was intrigued by using Amex to buy a pre-paid MC, and did it several times (3 x 5 x $100 cards)

The FB Coles GCs had a fixed $ amount on them.

Looking at the site for these cards, it seems the load needs to be made with something non points-earning :(.

whats a MS?

It's an acronym for manuf@ctured spend-a way of accumulating credit card points beyond what one's normal income would allow
Apparently quite feasible in the US, but harder (or more closely guarded) here

WW are having an effective 10% off Myer GC deal from Wednesday (via a 10% WWR rebate).

Has anyone tried to buy a Coles Myer GC from Myer with a Myer GC? If doable, it could be 10% off a Coles shop by shopping at WW.
