Only the $100 prepaid MCs are worthwhile with this offer so you will need to find 26 of them

I received this offer :

Make Dad’s day with a Coles Online MasterCard. It’s the virtual card you keep online, not in your pocket – just the card if you love to shop online or over the phone, or even as a last minute gift.
And the best news is, that if you get one before 4 September 2016, we’ll waive the $5 purchase fee.*
Get one now, load it up and start shopping at millions of online retailers securely, in less than five minutes!
Hurry. Offer ends 4 September 2016.
Enter promo code: COM5F

It look like will earn me some Flybuy Points but not sure how it work , it didn't ask for my flybuy number when i bought the card , the code take off $10 when bough 2 card with $5 fee each .

Coles doesn't allow me to use AMEX to pay for this Coles Online MasterCard so it a no-go for me .

Hoping for the GC offer to appear overnight but nothing..... Looks like I will have to wait for a 'Gift Cards for Christmas' offer!

Hoping this will trigger another offer (hopefully better stocked) from woolies in a few months time.

Not sure if this has any bearing but might be worth looking at your FB profile to see if it includes children in household ;)

There were plenty of $50 cards at Coles Macquarie Centre, but only one $100 card, so I grabbed it.

I'll check that. But it seems odd - get dad to buy himself a prepaid mastercard and earn extra FB points?

Unless they're emailing these dockets to children?

If buying a $100 gc and say spending $75 on it, how is the $25 treated, is it still there, or is it best to pay the whole $100 in one go?

It will stay there until expiry. You can check the balance online.

I always find it better to use the whole lot in one ago, so you don't have to keep track of fiddly little balances. Unless someone knows of a good method to combine small balances on the gift mc's?!!?

It will stay there until it expires or you use the rest.

and that's why companies love gift cards. those 'small' left over amounts that aren't used or a gift card that's lost = profit

after visiting 3 coles nearby I only managed to buy 12 :( is someone buying it from chatswood / lane cove coles? NSW

Just a tip for those new to using the Coles MC giftcard online. If the provider levies a surcharge you need to account for this when setting the amount to pay
I.e if the surcharge is 0.42% you need to pay $99.58- otherwise your payment will be frozen-may take a few weeks for the card to be usable again

purchased at self checkout yes, but an employee needs to scan their code to authorise the sale even if you only purchased 1. whether or not they linger to watch how you pay is up to luck.
Yes they can and I've never had a problem selecting the payment method of my choice.

Just used self check out, the staff authorised, then watched me like a hawk. I tried to scan my mobile phone which has a e gift card, and she stopped me.

Just came back from Coles inside Westfield Chatswood NSW, I took 5, still got over 20 on the stand (probably 30 but cannot be bothered to keep counting after 20)

There's always one overly zealous staff member... :D
