What does "hammer" that mean in effect? I just got the offer of 1000 flbuys for $100. As I understand it get cc points too when I buy it and ... what else can I do to maximise things? I'm really late to the gift card route.

Anyone going to hammer this Coles giftcard again ?

1000 FB = $5 so it is $0 fee in reality. Use AMEX PE $1 = 3MR points
a maximum of 10 Qualifying Cards per transaction.
The offer can be redeemed multiple times during the campaign period.

Repeat above 10 times ? 20 ? 50 ? :)

1. Pay with best possible credit card-Platinum Edge ideal (even better if you are local champion)
2. Use the MC to buy things that would normally earn fewer points. Online bills are ideal as it is easier to keep the payments to $100 increments or pay out the remaining $ on a partially used card-think health insurance, utilities, tolls and other portals
3. Arbitrage the FB points into EY miles at 1.25c each

Thanks guys. I am just about to try for the Amex PE, but I may have missed the boat on this offer. I am saving up FBs for an EY flight, so I should get a few of these MCs.

What you mean by they didnt count toward docket/coupon last time ???

This is first time i buy Coles MC

Coles often give out offers such as spend $x and get y points, either by coupon, email or on the bottom of the docket. Giftcard purchases don't seem to trigger those offers even though you will get the bonus flybuys for buying the giftcard. Last time was when they ran the same promo for Mothers' Day.

NB: if you carry giftcards for multiple family members, make sure you scan the right one as this offer is targeted (presumably to male parents).

I haven't got the offer, so it's moot.

It seems everyone is receiving a different offer, and different stages. Let's rewind this thread.

I just received a targeted offer of 2,000 flybuys points on the purchase of a prepaid Visa card at Coles. Might be worth checking your flybuys offers. Sadly it can only be used once so probably safe to say that there won't be any stock shortages.

Fathers day offer just came through - 1,000 FB points for a $100 Coles Prepaid Mastercard. T&C's look like a maximum of 10 per transaction, the offer can be redeemed multiple times.

This post was dated today 14:43

This is the offer I got, and that e-mail from FlyBuys arrived into my e-mail at 15:32 Sydney time today.

So you may receive a different offer later?

Last time they didn't count toward docket/coupon bonus point targets though

We dont shop at Coles often so not familiar with those offer . My main aim is buy MC Coles with $0 fee and earn 1.5 QF points on my ANZ Amex . Using those to pay for ATO at 0.42% fee . Plus some bonus Flybuy points on the side

Planning to get 2 x $1000 and 1 x $600

Only the $100 prepaid MCs are worthwhile with this offer so you will need to find 26 of them

Here are the T&Cs for the offer:

*BONUS POINTS offer only available to flybuys members who receive this email, activate the offer and then purchase a $50 or $100 Coles Gift MasterCard (“Qualifying Card”) in store from a Coles Supermarket between 23 August and 4 September 2016. BONUS POINTS will be awarded for each Qualifying Card purchased during the offer period, a maximum of 10 Qualifying Cards per transaction. 500 BONUS POINTS for each $50 Coles Gift MasterCard and 1,000 BONUS POINTS for each $100 Coles Gift MasterCard will be credited to qualifying flybuys members account within 4 weeks of offer end date. You have been specifically selected for this offer and it is not transferable. You must activate this offer and scan your flybuys number when you buy a Qualifying Card. The offer can be redeemed multiple times during the campaign period.

Can be VERY useful for say card holders who want to earn points WITHOUT a surcharge at other retailers/restaurants/etc.

OR pay utility/Govt bills and receive full points not half for that spend...

I had been thinking of stock-piling some cards in advance just in case - another bright idea not put into action, sniff, sniff!

Can buy them via Coles with no surcharge, earn the points such as VFF etc.

BE WARNED - this spend will get counted in setting any future spending hurdles for FlyBuys offers in future. The last time this was offered my spend hurdle went from $60 or so to over $330.

HOWEVER - in reverse - Coles do not recognise any GC spending for normal hurdle spend calculation.

Worse than the ATO...

After much anticipation, it looks like I have missed out unless FB sends out another wave of emails.

Would have easily purchased 50 to 70 without any problems.

The offer ends 4th of Sept and AMEX is normally very quick in posting out new cards (less than a week in my experience) so you might get lucky if you were keen.

is there a way to get targeted for these deals?
i didn't get the mothers day or fathers day deal...been with flubuys for over 10 years :-(

Anyone know if this MasterCard can be purchased at self check out? If so, I can choose my own payment method ......
purchased at self checkout yes, but an employee needs to scan their code to authorise the sale even if you only purchased 1.

whether or not they linger to watch how you pay is up to luck.

Based on experience from Mother's Day offer, I'll be back for this one. Hopefully there'll be some good supply available again this time :)
Unlike Woolies Visa GC (eftpos only not even Wish GC is allowed) you can buy Coles MC GCs on credit. Pretty good deal let's hope it lasts.

It's too late at night, Coles already closed their self service check out, so I just paid with Edge instead of Coles gift cards, as I don't know what stock level is like (comparing say Black Eagle EFTPOS card in WW last week).

Baulkham Hills, just bought 20 cards, still got 6 left on the shelf.

Warning: all the cards I bought expiry 2017 May, so check before buying, and don't mass pile

Just bought 30 around miranda area. Self checkout no longer can take more than 5 cards. So need to split between 5.
