Post arr into MEL last nt I visited Flt Crew in coughpit for a chat. I questioned both Crew Members about consuming gifted chocolates or such from pax - both indicated they would have no problem consuming them - BUT - both wouldn't consume them in flight - 1 might the other wouldn't - as was posted earlier in this thread I think Flight Crew members never consume the same food in flight just in case of severe food poisoning or such that could bring 2 or more down.

And they love them:

Grace got her 1st one on 228 Mar 24 - in her words ‘attached to my bag before I got off plane’ - and gets her 2nd one today

So where are those dudes posting about ‘creeping cabin crew out’? - crawled back under their rocks have they?
I think it is more a case of people having different opinions. I don't think anyone on the forum needs to "crawl back under a rock" and I think it is poor form to suggest it (again just an opinion)

Just flew from KEF to LHR and the crew reverse gifted me these. Said they had some QF crew on board who gave them to them. I've never even seen these before!

They are new - I bought some the other day to take overseas for the kids of my friends. I love Cadbury Caramilk but I'm not sure it's suitable for the European or Asian adult palette.

I posed the same question to my crew yesterday and they said "oops.... hadn't thought of that, we've already eaten them"!

IMHO Gifts for cabin attendants are a silly idea. Who tips the pilot? Silly creeping Americanisms .

No issues with tips, but you provide it AFTER the service is provided

Before is just wanting attention/glass kept full/creepy

Pretty sure I've never tipped in a restaurant prior to eating and surprise surprise it's also a service environment.

Had interesting experience travelling BNE/MEL/HBA. Was on QF Points+Pay ticket with son - going to FF meet up in Hobart for weekend and @anat0l was on sane flights. QF delayed 3 times then cancelled BNE/MEL flight so Lounge Supervisor personally arranged transfer of ticket to VA through SYD Operations. Ran up to VA Lounge and waited whilst the system transfer of ticket happened. They finally were able to confirm our seats and add our VA FF numbers after boarding has already started (on the direct BNE/HBA flight). The Lounge Angels got a large double tray of FR chocs courtesy of @anat0l and the crew got 6 FR chocs.

Crews on our return HBA/SYD/BNE flights got chocs as well.

On all flights we got food and drinks from the cart gratis. CM Frankie gave me some champagne on the HBA/SYD flight.

I think I'm with the group that says it's a form of bribery/tip..... when you go to a restaurant, do you give them choccies too?

Maybe if you do it as you leave the flight, that would be better and more suitable.

Each to their own. I find the positive endorphins from just receiving chocs at the start mean the crew give everyone better service. If they want to give me something (there’s no obligation) then that will also be gratefully received. I’ve had messages on napkins - that’s enough for me. I’ve made a positive difference to their day.

No, I tip at restaurants. Servers like cold hard cash otherwise it may go to the restaurant owner if included in the bill.
