Succumbing to all @Flashback's talk of sloe gin I found this at Dan's in Launceston so am giving it a try.I don't mind it at all.

AS,
MGC is a good gin. One of my favourites is Four Pillars.
Also try (for something different) my favourite - Hartshorn (Grandvewe) Sheep Whey Gin (very tasty!) - alcohol is made from lactose as the carbohydrate. It was the gold medal winner at World Gin Awards 2018. Try some - I guarantee you wont be disappointed!

i see from the photo its 20%, so might lack oomph if you have it as a gin and tonic

but it certainly is an interesting flavour!

God no it’s just made in a massive factory with product lines spewing out thousands of bottles a minute somewhere probably overseas why feed a multinational corporation when you can support a local distillery...?

Looked cheap but it's 500mL ABV 20%.
So really equivalent to $60 for a normal 750mL 40% bottle.

At least the Darley's is Australian made.

Same here in QLD, but the two Woolies supermarkets that I go to have a BWS right next door, you have to push your woolies trolley right past the door - shame not to go in !!

This is a new one for me. First sip was a hint of aniseed but then other botanicals blended in. A fine drop for a local

Turned out really well.Subtle hints of finger lime with the G&T.
The gin was vintage Beefeater probably duty free from ~ 1979.

It’s quite a nice drop. Lovely effect when you add the tonic
