We are doing a gin tasting in Melbourne street in a couple of weeks time. Son and partner did one at Settlers - in McLaren Vale and loved it. But it started at 10am and by 10.30 they were shnikered! Pure gin.

A new gin joint in Hobart, by Forty Spotted, the Ginstitute. As well as a bar there are workshops where you create your own (sorta like d'Arenberg at McLaren vale for wine ...)

That's probably paywalled, so just a little extract:

“You get to walk away with a bespoke gin that you’ve created.

“What I really hope is that people walk away thinking it was a lot of fun, but I also hope that they gain a new understanding of how a gin blender makes the product that ends up in their glass.

“They’ll never experience gin the same way again.”

When the bar opens on November 27, guests will experience a selection of unique Tasmanian-inspired gin coughtails and more than 20 of the world’s rarest and most exciting gins.

I am a moderate gin drinker and have recently fallen in love with 23rd st gin.

I recently bought a slew of gins for Christmas.

I chose international though as I was looking for something different, interesting flavours that weren't just tons of juniper.
