Gin!

Anyone here bought anything from The Gin Boutique? They have quite an impressive range of local and international gins.

I bought a bottle home from Tassie.Along with a really good pepperberry liqueur>Too frightened to open it as it might all disappear.

When you next come over to WA for a holiday you must go down to Albany and stop in at the Great Southern Distilling Company. They are on Frenchman Bay Road and make a Giniversity Gin, as seen here.

Also advertise Limeburners Whisky and Tiger Snake Whiskey..sounds lethal ! 564B2F52-3E2B-4F7F-A4FD-FEA6DB17EDA4.jpeg

I really like the Scrapegrace - and just picked up a botle of their Gold Label at Wellington a couple of weeks' ago. Apparently they have Black Label - which is coloured black! That would make for a very intersting G&T

am a huge gin fan, I tried this recently and thought it was fantastic,
pretty purple colour, however I would need to do a blind tasting test to to see if im swayed by the pretty colour

at $80 a bottle its not cheap either.......

actually, while I type, Is this twice as good as bombay or Tanqueray???? I'm starting to think im getting swayed by the purple :D

The Four Pillars Sticky Carpet Gin is the best by far.

Anyone been to ATLAS in Singapore? great gin bar.

So today I had a look at the local distillery here in Bundaberg.Kalki Moon.
free tour and 2 complimentary tastes. They have a standard, premium and navy gins plus a barrel aged gin-only make 365 bottles a year of this.
They have a vodka and later this year their first rum.
Three liquers-a pink gin and 2 based on vodka.

I enjoyed their premium gin.One of the botanicals is fresh finger lime grown locally.

Hi all, I get the current craze with gins. But I have a question for all the people who have such a focus.

I often get asked what gin is the best to buy. Invariably from people who are not gin-savants. I always go with my personal favorite - Bombay Sapphire. My question is that is there another mainstream gin that people would consider superior to Bombay Sapphire, in that price margin? And if so, why? ( Iam taliking for normal people who want to make a coughtail - not gin connoisseurs)

I'm a fan of the Tanqueray gins which at least at duty free price can be got for only slightly more than the Bombay Sapphire.

I prefer Tanqueray to be honest, same price point or lower.

Slightly off topic but these distilleries all need to have ethanol fumes gas detection!

One tiny accident and these places can go Kaboom!

Being such a craft industry safety isn't high on the list it seems.

(I know as I'm in the gas detection industry)

Finished off Four Pillars Navy Strenght and that will be the last Four Pillars I buy now its been gobbled up by a large Asian multinational. I also prefer to support local.

Another great one, I recently bought Brunswick Aces Spades Gin - one of my favourite so far. These guys also make a non-alcoholic version as well as increasingly less people are drinking these days so good to have on hand!
