Well I'm off now for that walk now...30 mins and I should get between 3 and 3.5K (to add to the 8.35K I'm on now).

(Edited to add): Nice call Flashware. Half an hour later and I added another 3.2K steps. I should have been doing this from the start. But I can only do it on days I'm in the office and not seeing clients (as I dress down on those days, plus I have cracked a sweat and unlikely to walk as fast with work shoes on). Should crack 15K easily today :D

Great! Depending on how organised I was, I'd be the same.. would sport just a polo and trousers instead, and try and have my running shoes with me to make it that little bit easier on the feet.

On that note, my aim for 20k per day was maybe a little high for this week. I've actually ended up being reasonably busy so have only been able to average 15k. Let's see how the rest of the week pans out...

Today was too busy for me. :( Meeting, telecon, meeting, proposal due...... *sigh* Left the office at 8.20 pm.

Still don't know how I managed to rack up 11,000 today.

I like phone calls, when they can be taken on the mobile or a cordless phone as I tend to pace around in circles :p

I'd agree with you, but this was a telecon that had to be taken sitting down in the board room. Walking around the teleconference speaker/microphone is ineffective and has a tendency to confuse people at the other end.

I figured that was unfortunately probably the case!

Thought I would walk to my haircut and back this morning (about 2kms each way) - normally I would have driven :o

Have a meeting in CBD this afternoon (at least 3 kms each way), so have decided to walk as well - have lunch on the way. No use trying to get a taxi at 5pm in Brisbane - I'd probably get back to work quicker walking anyway and save my company $20.

These two, on top of my 7.5K start (morning walk + around home) will blow 20K out of the water. Bundy Bear, I'm trying to help you to the magical 100K day

Good, good! I just got back from a 6km walk myself, almost on 10k now and I still have a walk down to my PO Box as well as Hockey training tonight, so should hit the 20k mark too

Go team!

Of course, it's hard to crack 100K on a day when not everyone in our team is up-to-date with their entries

We may have cracked it already but don't know without the updates :o

Time to start walking to my 2pm appointment

Damn, just missed getting 20k yesterday :(

Has put my average up so now I'll have to chase it today.

Slightly infuriated by my lack of steps in this comp, I left the office at 6.20pm today and did a massive walk from the university to the city.

Route:
  • Start at The University of Queensland (cnr College and Staff House Roads)
  • Walk across the Eleanor Schonell Bridge to Dutton Park
  • Walk up to Gladstone Road, turn left towards South Brisbane
  • Follow Gladstone Road down to Merivale Street, turn left towards Go Between Bridge
  • Walk down Merivale Street, cross Go Between Bridge, turn right onto Bicentennial Bikeway towards city
  • Take Herschel Street exit, walk down North Quay
...then into the QSM, arriving at 7.30pm. Distance covered was about 6.33 km according to Google Maps, give or take 50 m.

Another quick walk around there and off to Ann St to get my bus home.

Total steps accumulated today: 18,613.

Nice work anat0l. I might go and do a lunch-time walk now

Now if two members of our team starworld caught up on their entries , that would put our team totals in a much better position against team onealliance. We are falling behind in the averages again and know not what out two team members might have walked/run/swum/biked that could help us overtake that other team .

I had a quiet day yesterday, 10 014, however I've just ticked over 10k this morning and about to head off for another walk so should be a decent total today!

Sorry Team.

Just updated my steps now. I'll do a bit of walking in NZ on the weekend!
