I have managed to lose 5Kg since the start, just imagine what it might have been had a couple of F lounge visits had not taken place, I suppose its all about balance.

We'd be much further ahead if we all put in our steps daily , methinks that the slew of step will push us along

I feel a pain in my back..........its gone now, must have been a gentle prod LOL

Who says it just a gentle one  - and you were far from the only one who was being reminded :p.

Now where is my cattle prod :?:

With only 2 days to go...I hope everyone is making that final push for the finishing line.

I'll agree with serfty, I'm a bit jaded and will be glad to finally finish...with a 2nd place in the AFF ranks. Likewise markis10, I have only lost about 2 kgs - must have been the extra desserts I have been eating onboard :o

I'm glad to have at least kept my average above 10,000 steps per day, but unfortunately not my own target of at least 12,000 steps per day. A number of events, coupled with how to get out of my office sometimes when bogged down with work has been most annoying.

Hopefully some others who participated - especially for the first time - have had some fruitful results.

I've found it to be a very interesting marker of how much more of an 'active' lifestyle I live over here. It's interesting seeing how much I get on a 'normal' day here vs a 'normal' day back in Perth...

I was well over it a while ago - I think it goes about twice as long as it needs to.. I've almost become resentful about it.

Unless I have some sort of radical u-turn in my thinking I wont be doing it again.

But I'm not unhappy that I did it - it's useful in that it gets you going and perhaps (hopefully) into a longer-term healthy exercise habit. Plus I've managed to break the clips on both pedometers. :(

I've left my best to last. Got up 15 mins earlier than my normal alarm and walked my dogs for 1.75 hours; then have been making sure I've been walking every hour including a walk after lunch.

Now I've hit and passed my previous personal best. Time for bed.

I drowned one pedo (which eventually died) and my remaining one is one it's way out.

It's a good thing we are all different. I feel quite frustrated if I can't do my regular for whatever reason. I've had a cold the last few days which cut me back. I felt like I was failing! Walking over the last 4-5 years has become part of my daily regime and the only difference after Tuesday will be the pedometer is left off. Bring on 2012!

I have no problem with the length of the "challenge".

I enjoyed it last year, but this year my main issue has been the web page. It doesn't work properly when employing FireFox via the proxies based access I need to deal with - so I need to use IE. Even than, half the time it fails and I need to clear all cookies/caches before I can get it staggering back to a semblance of functionality.

What really galls me is last year's [relatively] impressive site worked fine ...

Anyway, it won't be an issue next year for me ...

Is the Challenge 110 days long, or do I still have another day to enter? I get "Last Day" next to the team and my average

I think the GCC is 111 days. So one more entry to make (assuming you are all up to date to today).

You assume correctly that I am up to date, anat0l. After getting behind during my overseas trip, I made it my goal to enter my previous days' steps on my morning walk

The e-mail I received from GCC said 111 days...

GCC said:
Congratulations Flashware!

You did it! You have successfully completed the 111 days of the GCC 2011!

Well done, your achievements will have had a positive effect on every system in your body. Some of these benefits you will be feeling now and some, while not visible or immediately obvious, will hold you in good health for years to come.

Don't forget to enter today's steps as usual (tomorrow), and remember, you have until midnight this Friday 9th September to enter any of your missed steps. You put in the work, so make sure you get the reward.

Once again, congratulations, you should be very proud of your achievement!

I think everybody should have got that email this evening - I got it at 6pm.

I hope these words aren't lost on everybody:

you have until midnight this Friday 9th September to enter any of your missed steps

Well, it's over and despite my earlier-posted sentiments I'm pleased I participated, though I would be hoping the good habits last and I don't need to formally participate in future GCCs.

Thanks to anat0l for the primary organising, to skoogle for shipping out my goodies pack, and to all from AFF who participated (including my teammates, some of whom were clearly more energetic than me  ). Apologies if I've missed anyone, but I'm sure you know who you are! :)

To those 4 people in the Moderators team who haven't finished putting in your steps, you have 28 hours.

There is one miscreant who still has 14 days of steps to enter. I wonder how many levels we will progress :d

If I report your post, that should get all of their attention, right? :p

Thanks anat0l and everyone from me also. Unfortunately my heart was not in it at all this year.
