Nice to see the Moderators fly through 69, 70 and 71 when one team member entered 3 weeks worth of steps 6 hours ago :D

Welcome back...now where are the other 3 who have steps to enter?

Cruel.

It has been interesting trying to get steps up whilst being on an 82.2M vessel for 12 days. Having said that I can now go up and down 5 flights of stairs without issue, --- and then another two if I continue up to the Helideck.

Anybody else care to relate their regular walks?

Yep. :)

The Gardiner's Creek Trail in Melbourne (not quite as exotic as Paris, but it'll have to do).

Standard walk is ~4.7 km, slightly longer one is ~7km, longest done yet is ~11km. All involve following some main roads for a while, then onto the creek trail, then back onto main roads to return home. There is scope to go quite a way further, but the further I go, the further I have to come home.

Part is concrete shared cycle/foot way, part is dirt track and parklands where people exercise their dogs off-leash. Its all far prettier and more relaxing than the road bits.

In the opposite direction it is ~4.6 kms to my old mum's place. This is partly main roads, partly the Centennial trail, which follows the path of a long disused rail line (tracks long gone), and partly Gardiner's Creek. Again, the off-road parts are very pleasant.

The earlier part of the GCC for me was at home walking around my suburb - very similar to tuapekastar's walks. As I'm walking my younger dog, a pointer x greyhound who likes long walks, I average 5.5kms in the morning if I am pushed for time. Longer walks are up to 8kms.

Then my 7 weeks in Europe shoved my average up and walking around the tourist areas in cities, either pushing my son (total weight with pram ~ 15 kgs) or both my kids (my daughter rode an attached buggy board, so pushing ~35 kgs). My numbers exploded when we reached Paris, as we then didn't have a car and I walked for the first 2 days, similar routes to turtlemichael. From Hilton Arc de Triomphe one day I walked to AdeT once and twice to Eiffel Tower. My legs felt like they were going to fall off.

Back now to my usual walks and looking to bump into anat0l one day, as we live close by.

Another good event to increase your step count is compete in the BridgetoBrisbane 10km run or walk. :)

website Bridge to Brisbane 2011

The Sunday Mail Suncorp Bridge to Brisbane is pleased to announce that this year’s fun run will be held on Sunday September 11, 2011

10 years since September 11. :(

Cost is $35.50.

My regular walk is between Home and Carrum station ~2.5 km. Google maps indicates it's a 31 minute walk - I allow 23.

Of course, then there's those days when I play Golf.

I've partially worked out the keep me logged in thing. Been using iPad and iPhone. If I only log in from iPhone it will keep me logged in. But if I then use iPad, or a computer that "logs" out the iPhone.

That's the benefit of not having an iPad, no problems -always logged in if you want, via an iPhone

I've tried to resurrect my step count of recent but I'm still being advised to go easy on my feet.

This sucks royally because I definitely have the stamina to walk a lot... :(

I am finding myself caring less and less about this - I really abhor this year's web site. It is clunky, inefficient and takes ages to load. The remember me does not work consistently etc. etc. etc. A

Anyway, now up to date -bring on the finish ...

Where is the one laggard on our team? I thought he'd been shamed into putting in his steps by now ;-)

.

I think that's what I was trying to get at, the remember me works for me but only if I always go to the website from the same device - phone or ipad.

im gonna have to lift my game!
to get back to last years average im gonna need to do about a million miles a day!
