Really, the GCC website this year is an absolute Dog!

What was wrong with last years?:-|

Because i've more than doubled my usual daily average in Bangkok in the last 4 days count as extra because it was in 35 degree heat??

especially seeing as i came from FAlls creek to here??

Now the decision is do i get out and get a last burst of steps before i settle into 3 k or stay here in the f lounge???

I actually think this years site is much nicer, and it works with mobile devices better too.
Well it does not 'remember' you, no matter how often the box is checked.

Last year after entering your steps you had a little animation of a line advancing across the world. Not so this year.

It is unreliable with Firefox, so I have to use IE ... and even then page do not always load properly - I could go on.

First time in GCC so can't compare with previous years, but certainly, as you say, the site will not remember you, and TBH, it hasn't overly impressed me.

That is true. On my Android phone/tablet it will at least remember the password, so makes logging back in quick... but on my PC (Firefox) this is not always the case!

I think I remembered reading that they got rid of that animation as a lot of people requested it, I had a feeling there was somewhere to turn it back on though?

I've not had any issues accessing with FF though apart from the password thing.

Have to totally agree with you Serfty. Bring the old one back. The new one sucks - agree with all the issues raised.

It's frustrating when you leave the house on 8k steps (after a morning walk with both dogs) yet turn off the light at night with only 13k steps for the whole day. I blame work keeping me glued to the chair :-(

Trying to keep my numbers up and increasing my average.

I wish I could, but very difficult to work when both of them are expecting a walk, whining or licking me.

Getting out at lunch-time is an option, along with walking to appointments in the City.

Think I'm going to try and beat my PB today. Good start walking the dogs and I'm walking to and from meeting in the City this afternoon.

Good to see we've (Moderators) hit 5M steps and we still have 4 members who have yet to log steps - one I can understand is incommunicado and he owes lots of days (like I did in Europe).

I notice a number of members hit personal 1M & 2M milestones.

What a team daily average for the Kangaroos!

Nice to see the Moderators fly through 69, 70 and 71 when one team member entered 3 weeks worth of steps 6 hours ago :D

Welcome back...now where are the other 3 who have steps to enter?

During a long walk yesterday I fell over and rolled my ankle. Woke up this morning still with the limp.

Needless to say, medically and practically speaking it's going to be difficult to reach my step target today :(

Were you reading AFF on your iPhone and not paying attention?

I've taken up your slack this morning, already 8.5k now...

I could only wish this was an iPhone:!:

Basically I was walking on the footpath and didn't take note of a small hole (one of those small drain cover things)...and over I went. Grazed my other knee and limped home to a hysterical mum & sister.

Sent via the Aust Freq Fly app. No, this is not an iPhone.

Wonder how many other walkers came across a shark on their walk this morning, albeit a dead one, obviously someone was not happy with their catch from Darwin Harbour!

I can sympathise! Several weeks ago I did a longish (~11km) and 'standard' (~5km) walk on the weekend and found my knee pulled up rather sore on the Monday. That'll learn me! That (and a little minor unrelated medical intervention) has slowed me down considerably, though I hope to be back up to speed this week.

Interesting to know where people are walking.

I can't claim to have come across a dead shark but being in Paris until November I have some interesting walks. This morning's 2+ hour constitutional (there are plenty of advantages to being retired!) was from our apartment in Bastille, along Rue de Rivoli and then the Champs Elysees where the remain from Cadel's victory were being cleaned up, across to the Eiffel Tower and back along the Seine. I picked up la baguette for breakfast on the way back and that does tend to counteract the effects of the walk. Another interesting walk I have done a couple of times is along the Canal St Martin from Bastille to La Villette and back. A good shorter one is along the Promenade Plantee. It is an old railway track, converted to a 4.5 long garden (like the one in Manhattan) which starts just behind the Bastille Opera House and stretches out to the Peripherique. It very interesting as the summer blooms still are about at the moment.

My walking enthusiasm may diminish when the weather turns colder and damper(it reached the dizzy height of 20C yesterday) as we lined up to see Cadel's victory but so far so good.

Anybody else care to relate their regular walks?
