Well, now that I have logged my steps for the last 10 days, that should help our averages.

Been great walking with the kids around airports, England and Europe - however my early steps were disappointing, so making up for it now.

Alas, tomorrow my time will be disappointingly low as I drive from Stuttgart to Bern. 350kms and only steps in our regular breaks to add to my tally.

Thanks LW - hope you're having fun.

Just checked our location history - what an interesting set of places we've been, including Darwin would you believe.

For the mods team, in order to catch up with the leading team, we'd need to get an additional 5k steps per person per day on average.

Good luck .... ! ;)

We sorry but my efforts over the last few days have not helped as I have dropped from well above to just below the team average. :(

And I spent today on planes, so well down on the step count. But Mrs NM is joining me in HK for the weekend, so should be plenty of steps then.

Well I didn't fare well today. Too many things to do, paperwork and many meetings restricted my only walking to going up and down 2 floors worth of stairs in our building many times today. So I fell short of my daily target. :(

I have to travel tomorrow, so it'll be interesting to see how this'll pan out.

Having travelled for the last few days, my step count really suffered.

Today, I made up significantly for it by putting in close to twice my normal daily target, which has made up for the deficiencies of the other days and then some.

Operation Increase Daily Average Steps is now back on track:!:

Having just been out drinking in Bairro Alto (Lisbon) with some randoms I met, my step count is looking good :D

There's only one thing to do when your step count for the previous days has been abysmal due to a conference which keeps you in a building for the good part of 8-14 hours a day.

And that's go on a "walking bender".

I walked all over the German city of Köln today. My feet are really sore, I barely ate or drank a thing all day (and can I say how difficult it is to get still water in Germany!). But the pedometer really ticked over today.

Back into my correct average zone, but maintaining it over the next few days when I'll mostly be stuck in the air will again prove to be a real challenge.

Planning to get the step count up over the weekend. The abysmal wet NSW weather has been my excuse this week, but the sun is shining today, so time to walk.

Feel free to sit back, enjoy the inflight service and put your feet up though anat01. :p

Not as easy as I thought while in HK. Walking from hotel to office, to lunch, back to office, back to hotel and then somewhere for dinner is only netting me around 6K steps, so I am having to go out of my to keep up the average. Today (Saturday) was a good opportunity, with only about 4 hours work to be done today. Tomorrow I have arranged to go "hiking" with a friend - not sure where, could be local to HK or maybe to one of the outer islands, all I know is that the step count should be good tomorrow! The only criteria I gave him was that it must be more than 10km and end at a pub! His reply was "I know just the place ;)".

Where did you end up going on your hike (apart from the pub):?: I think I saw that you posted a new personal best on the GCC site.

Yep, clocked over 20K for the first time!

Took the 2X bus from Causeway Bay to the Shau Kei Wan Terminus, then the number 9 bus towards Shek O, getting off on Shek O Rd at the To Tei Wan stop, just before Cape D'Aguilar Rd. Then walking down the steps and along the path that follows the water course along the mountainside above To Tie Wan, Lan Nai WAN and Tai Tam Harbour to the dam wall of the Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir. From there we caught the number 14 bus back to Sai Wan Ho, getting off at Tai Hong House. Then walked down to a German pub on the waterfront around Lee King WAN area for a few beers. Then a walk through Quarry Bay Park and up to Kornhill Plaza at Tai Koo for Yum Cha. Then the 2A bus back into Causeway Bay. Then an afternoon nap before a wander around Causeway Bay in the evening to clock up the few extra steps needed to cross the 20K mark.

The hike from To Tie Wan to Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir took us about 1hr 40min and was very hot (we got off the bus at Tie Wan at 10am) with not much protection from the sun. Consumed 1.5 litres of water on the walk and 1 litre of beer at Tai Koo!

Hopefully this map shows the area.

i want that walk!!!!!!!!!

i live along a country road that has b doubles thundering along it so im stuck with the treadmill or exercise bike!

And the local pub shut so i cant even walk there!

This evening is a walk down Lockhart Rd to The Canny Man for a Haggis dinner and few wee drams of nectar to set up the stagger back to Causeway bay. I assume the pedometer measures staggers as well as steps . Only at 5000 steps so far for the day, so need the walk up to Wan Chai to get it up to target - or at least that seems like a good excuse to me.

I can confirm it counts staggers without issue :cool::lol:

Sounds like me straitman. I have only made 3 entries whilst I have been away - sorry. Being on holidays in Europe has certainly been up and down on the step count (and hotel pools for swimming). On my way to HKG now so will be able to clock up some more.

Paris was great to walk around!
