Hmm, you could walk 20 mins and end up a my place, have a few beers and walk 20 mins home, thus resulting in neutral calorie earn/burn rate ;).

That would have been the case until March when I moved to West End . And yes I walked home from the AFF drinks for that reason!

I've emailed all the previous people who have participated in the GCC about participating. For those who have pledged your participation this year, thank you for your support.

The helpful Lauren from the GCC has contacted me and once I get more free time (late tonight most likely) the team management console will be activated and I can start marshalling teams. She did make a note though that there may be a risk (such as previous years) - especially so close to the start date - that they may run out of starter packs, so she has advised me to finalise a number of teams (7 members per team) so she can "put our packs aside" so no one misses out.

In saying that - I think we may fill 2 teams fairly easily, do you think we could do 3, or more?

Oh well, I'll just have to drink the beers myself ;)

I am in the habit now of walking 3km to the office each morning and another few km walk "home" after work.

And let me say the weather we have had this week makes for a very pleasant walk not matter what time its taken!

Looks like we'll be there at the same time, adding to the GCC steps in France :D

In 2009 I participated via the AFF team and last year via a separate corporate team. I am happy to rejoin the AFF team for 2011. I will add an international flavour too as I'll be in France for all bar the first week of the challenge. With too much time on my hands I averaged over 21,000 steps last year so I should be able to contribute. Can't guarantee that I'll reach the same dizzy heights this year as there are a few more distractions in Paris than in Cairns ;)

Please add me in if possible. Been on a health kick with SWMBO this year before our 25th anniversary RTW which takes off 15 September. So the challenge ends a week or so before we go.

Add me too please... having been looking for motivation.. and given how competitive I am... this'll do it!!!
